Five civilians were killed in strikes carried out by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) against southern Lebanon on July 16, with Hezbollah responding by firing dozens of rockets at Israeli settlements near the Lebanese border during the day and early on July 17.

“Three Syrian children” were killed “in a strike that targeted farmland in the town of Umm Tout,” the National News Agency (NNA) said.

NNA also said that an “enemy” drone strike had targeted a motorcycle on the Kfar Tebnit road, killing two Syrians. A Lebanese security source, requesting anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media, told AFP that the two Syrians were “civilians” who worked nearby and had been swimming in the area.

The NNA said “eyewitnesses reported that the motorbike was carrying two people and that when a number of citizens tried to approach the bike… it was subjected to a second strike.”

In separate statements, Hezbollah said that its fighters responded to the deadly IDF strikes by firing dozens of rockets at the settlements of Kiryat Shmona, Kapri, Kfar Hoshan, Orhagnoz, Bariohai, Meron, Sa’ar and Gasher Haziv as well as at the headquarters of the IDF’s Sahel Battalion in the Beit Hilal barracks.

Hebrews media said that over 100 rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Israeli settlements, with many being intercepted by Iron dome air defense systems. Heavy damage was reported in Kiryat Shmona and several of the other targeted settlements. However, there were no reports of casualties.

In response to the rocket fire, the IDF said that it struck targets of Hezbollah in the southern Lebanese towns of Yarine, Ayta al-Shaab and Aalma al-Shaab overnight.

The clashes on the Lebanese-Israeli border first broke out after the start of the war in Gaza last October, with Hezbollah and its allies carrying out attacks in support of the Strip.

So far, the border clashes have resulted in 12 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least 17 IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 500 people have been killed, including 351 fighters of Hezbollah and over 90 civilians.

heyhey russia, ukraine is screaming for more patriot-systems (25 latest) plus missiles to go with the patriots so i think you should provide hezbollah with a couple of your s-400 anti-aircraft systems so they can reduce the jews airsuperiority by downing a couple of their f35s. much isn’t needed but if a couple of f35s or f22s go missing the jews will hesitate to allow them to fly again.

giving anti-air defenses to hezbollah would totally be justified in response to us/rael arming of ukronazis. however, given hezbollah strategy, infrastructure and combat tactics, systems like s400 that require a complex network of radars, control centers & launchers to work would not be very adapted and easy targets for israel to suppress. rather, smaller autonomous & mobile systems like tor or pantsir, and manpads like igla would be a perfect fit here, and massive game changer

good, good, good…looks like those interceptors are going to be getting scarce. maybe they should have sent 200 missiles. waiting for the day they have no interceptors.

why not use small air ballons with gps in thousands that are armed with grenades and then release load when cordinates are reached?

more like drones, there are balloon drones. too small to detect, but effective enough to do some damage.
