Heavy Ukrainian Losses Reported After Failed Advance Attempts (Videos)

Kiev forces have sustained heavy losses in manpower and equipment while attempting to advance in several directions, according to the October 12 briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled seven counter-attacks by Ukraine’s 4th Tank Brigade, 14th, 32nd and 115th mechanized brigades near Sinkovka, Ivanovka and Makeyevka.

The group also targeted gatherings of the 14th Mechanised Brigade and 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade near Kupyansk and Berestovoye.

Kiev forces lost 105 troops, one tank, two motor vehicles, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer, one American-made M109 self-propelled howitzer and one D-30 towed howitzer in this direction, the ministry said.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled three attacks by the 21st and 67th mechanized brigades close to Yampolovka and Chervonaya Dibrova.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 55 troops, two armored fighting vehicles as well as two D-30 towed howitzers.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled three Ukrainian attacks close to Kleshcheyevka and Pervomayskoye.

The group’s aviation also carried out strikes against gatherings of manpower and equipment from the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, 53rd, 93rd and 110th mechanized brigades close to Belogorovka, Kurdyumovka, Avdeyevka and Mariynka.

Up to 340 Ukrainian troops were killed or wounded in this direction, the ministry said, adding that one tank, five armored fighting vehicles and six motor vehicles were also destroyed. In addition, one French-made CAESAR self-propelled howitzer, two D-20 towed howitzers and one D-30 towed howitzer were neutralized by counter-battery fire.

Three Ukrainian ammunition depots were also targeted and destroyed in the outskirts of Avdeyevka, Orlovka and Latochkino

In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces targeted several gatherings of the 58th Motorized Brigade and 79th Airborne Brigade near Urozhaynoye and Novomikhailovka.

Up to 165 Ukrainian troops, two motor vehicles, one BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, one American-made M109 self-propelled howitzer and one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer were neutralized during the fighting in this direction, according to the ministry.

In the Zaporozhye direction, two attacks by the 23th and 65th mechanized brigades were repelled by Russian forces close to Rabotino.

Kiev forces lost 30 troops, one tank, two armored fighting vehicles, one American-made M777 towed howitzer, one D-20 towed howitzer and one American-made M119 towed howitzer during the fighting in this direction.

Meanwhile in the Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost 50 troops, 11 motor vehicles and one D-30 towed howitzer to Russian military fire. One electronic warfare station and ammunition depot were also targeted close to Berislav.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details during its briefing:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged AFU manpower and hardware in 129 areas during the day.

One military hardware depot was destroyed near Ismail (Odessa region).

An AFU hangar with landing boats was wiped out close to Solonzhaki (Nikolayev region).

Air-delivered ordnance depots of the Ukrainian Air Force were destroyed at Mirgorod airfield (Poltava region) and Dnepr airfield (Dnepropetrovsk region).

Air defense units intercepted six U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.

Moreover, 39 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were downed close to Spornoye, Peski (Donetsk People’s Republic), Belogorovka, Nyrkovo (Lugansk People’s Republic), Novofedorovka, Romanovskoye, Gulay Pole (Zaporozhye region), Nikolayevka, Novaya Kakhovka (Kherson region).

In total, 488 airplanes and 250 helicopters, 7,748 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 air defense missile systems, 12,528 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,163 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,738 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 14,115 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing four recent strikes with Lancet loitering munitions which destroyed an American-made M109 self-propelled howitzer, a D-20 towed howitzer, an American-made M777 towed howitzer and an unidentified multiple rocket launcher of Kiev forces.

More than four months after the beginning of their counteroffensive, Kiev forces are yet to break through Russian defenses in any direction. With ever increasing Ukrainian losses, the situation is not expected to shift. Winter will likely bring the counteroffensive to a full halt.

is it an idea to only report when there is something newsworthy? now these articles are similar to the daily telegram to berlin in ww1: im westen nichts neues. as long as there are the same suicidal tactics nothing will change and the depopulation continues. now it is: im osten nichts neues.

i was about to say the same. what’s new is that ukraine is slowly losing avdeevka.

avdeeka is almost in a full cauldron now. mariska is has seen some advances by russian. only a few buildings and trenches in thw farthest western part of the town remain in ukraine hands and are technically in thw grey zone already. in the north there are steady advances against ukriake which forces ukraine to deploy 15,000+ soldiers eastvof the oksil river, bear kupyansk. all the bridges across were destroyed now also so supply is now difficult for them.
