Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups prevented al-Qaeda-affiliated Horas al-Din from attacking a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern Lattakia countryside, a source familiar with the situation told the Syrian news outlet Enab Baladi on October 4.
According to the source, HTS and the FSA took this step in order prevent a military response from the SAA and its allies and possibly to protect the Russian-Turkish deconfliction agreement on the governorate of Idlib.
A radical figure named “Abu Rayan al-Ma’sadah,” who is close to Horas al-Din, confirmed that the al-Qaeda affiliated group was prevented from launching an attack and said the incident proves that HTS is a “guardian” of the deconfliction agreement.
“They [came] under the slogans of no for Sochi [agreement] and preventing a Turkish intervention, then they became the guardians of Sochi and Turkish observation posts,” al-Ma’sadah said criticizing HTS’ leadership.
Horas al-Din rejected the Russian-Turkish agreement and called it a “major conspiracy” in an official statement, which was released on September 22. However, HTS is yet to announce its stand on the agreement due to the internal disagreements.
HORAS AL-DIN ??? – since when did the Greeks start in Syria ?.
What’s your problem? It’s not ὥρας, it’s /ḥurās/ حُراس ‘guardians’. Gosh, I wish somebody would show signs of intelligence here for a change.
Oh no; not another arrogant prick on here ?. Get lost troll – you are blocked.
YES! Good move. I blocked it as well.
dear troll that is guardians of religion loosely translated
now get lost and let the adults discuss the war
you are obviously an american with a third rate education
Yawn.
Best strategy for SAA is to avoid interference in idlib. Until those beasts start to eradicate each other. Surely they will, if some time given to them.
HTS knows they’re between a rock and a hard place and doesn’t want to fight everyone at once.
What does that mean, a bunch of the terrorist leaders were discussing what to do when one of them shouted “Gods on our side, we’ll fight the unbelievers and kill them all” and then another more cool headed leader shouted “no, we’ll do what Erdogan wants us to, he’ll save us all and help destroy the enemy”, is that how HTS/FSA stopped the attack on the SAA, I’m impressed.
It’s also nice of them to give up the leaders name responsible for demanding this attack, it just makes me think he was probably one of the leaders that was actually calling for reconciliation, not the other way around. Unless of course he’s not much better than a rabid dog, then they might actually be happy to be rid of him, who knows and who cares.
