On Monday, the Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) launched a fresh advance against ISIS terrorists in south of the government-held town of Ithriyah in the province of Hama.
According to pro-govenrment sources, the army and the NDF captured the villages of al-Hijanah and Rasm al-Tina. Government troops also attacked ISIS units near Barghutiyah located east of the government-held city of Salamiyah.
A success in this area may allow the army and the NDF to clear the road between Salamiyah and the Tiyas Airbase (located at the Homss-Palmyra highway).
Good move. Claring the whole packet along the highway 45 will also shrink the SAA front line and relief many infantry units and military hardware, which could be used to advance East in the desert
