On February 5, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Tiger Forces and their allies launched an effort to take back the areas of Tell Sultan, Ras al-Ayn and Baris, which Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) captured on February 4.
According to pro-government sources, units of the SAA and the Tiger Forces, backed up by Iranian military advisers, engaged militants in Tell Sultan and re-entered the area. While according to some reports Tell Sultan is already under the control of government forces, the real situation on the ground remains unclear.
The SAA captured Tal Sultan 4 hours ago. Clashes still continue on the outskirt of the city. They still need to secure it.
This would be a great news. I hope SAA-Russia_ezbolah-Iran keep going fast, strong and without mercy or deals with terrorists.
