G7 Summit Hurts People

G7 Summit Hurts PeopleMore than 100 protesters were hurt by police ahead of a G7 summit in Germany, as thousands gathered to decry the group’s policies on “capitalism and globalization.” Police used pepper spray when a group of protesters tried to break through their cordon, resulting in brief scuffles. Anti-G7 protestors took part in a demonstration in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, southern Germany, on June 6, 2015.

The Group of 7 is a group consisting of the finance ministers and central bank governors of seven major advanced economies as reported by the International Monetary Fund: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States meeting to discuss primarily economic issues. Major economies? Where is China, Russia, India and Brazil then?

It looks like a major pro-American political club, but definitely not a largest economy forum. As is known Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa joint in association “BRICS” of five major emerging national economies. None of them does not participate in G7.

Most of the decisions worked out in G7 have political background and pro-American interest to hold the position of global hegemon that cause discontent of many Europeans.
