US President Joe Biden has dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. His withdrawal from the race helps analysts understand some of the reasons for the early election debate with Donald Trump weeks ago. In addition, concerns about the future of the Ukrainian conflict are growing increasingly, as an unpredictable candidate is expected to replace Biden.
On July 21, Biden published a letter stating that he was giving up on running for re-election. He said he would like to lead the country for another four years, but that he believes his replacement is the preferred choice “by the party and the country.” In fact, he suggested that he had been the target of strong internal pressure within Democrats to give up his goal of running against Trump.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden said in his letter.
This move was expected by many analysts. Biden’s disastrous performance in the first electoral debate proved that the president is absolutely unfit to continue holding a high public office. Some experts even suggested that the early debate – before the Democratic Convention – was a kind of “plot” by the party itself to make clear Biden’s inability to run, thus allowing the lobbying for his replacement to expand. Considering that the president made it clear in his letter that his withdrawal was the result of the “best interest of the party”, then the thesis that the Democrats wanted to boycott him seems to have been proven.
It remains to be seen who will actually replace Biden, but so far it is believed that the new candidate will be the current US Vice President Kamala Harris. After Biden’s drop, millions of pro-Harris posts began to be published on social media, with several public figures, politicians, celebrities and digital influencers endorsing Kamala’s candidacy. The party’s final decision is expected to be announced soon, but it is very likely that Harris will be confirmed as the new candidate.
Deepening the typical “woke” rhetoric of the Democratic Party, the main argument for endorsing Harris is that the US supposedly “needs a black woman” as president. It is also claimed that she is the “only chance” to free the US from Donald Trump’s “fascism”. The American liberal left wing believes that using woke arguments it will be possible to reverse Trump’s clear favoritism, but it is unlikely that the Republican candidate will be affected by this type of campaign.
Obviously, it is up to the American people to decide who is the best person to govern their country. US citizens have the right to analyze each candidate’s proposals and choose to vote for the one they consider the best at the current time. Unless there is fraud and electoral corruption – which is very likely, given the domestic political chaos in the US – the final decision about who will be the new president of the country must be respected regardless of the result.
What we can say for now is that a Democratic victory, with Harris or another candidate from the woke wing of American politics, could have serious consequences for the proxy conflict between the US and Russia. While Trump promises peace through the end of aid to Kiev and the resumption of negotiations, Biden, although pro-war, had a reasonably predictable stance. He escalated the conflict with Moscow as much as possible, but avoided taking more irresponsible steps, such as direct intervention, nuclear moves or authorizing NATO countries to attack Russia. Biden has somehow managed to balance his escalatory stance with the desire to avoid the worst-case scenario – something we do not know if the new Democrat candidate will continue.
Like other Democrats, Harris is well known for her escalatory stance, advocating an aggressive policy against all of the US’ enemies. Russia, China and Iran would be targets of her foreign policy, posing serious risks to world peace. Particularly with regard to the conflict that has already begun with Russia, she could serve the interests of the most bellicose and irresponsible elites in the West, taking escalatory measures that would create a real risk of direct or nuclear war.
If a new Democratic president comes to power, the future of the war with Russia will become completely unpredictable, leading to a serious risk situation. The only possible hope is that Harris will change her stance, if elected, and start acting more responsibly – which is unfortunately highly unlikely.

i wont bet even a coin that something will change no matter who is going to be the next potus. everything is already aligned so nothing will change at the core of the empire. it’s a shame that u.s.a empire could not make it right when they were the supreme hegemon so it’s time to pay the bills for the broken glasses they created worldwide and they will have to accept they are going to be number two or three before 2050.
