Russia’s FSB has announced detention of suspected members of a sabotage group who plotted acts of sabotage in Crimea. The detention took place in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol on November 9.

“The members of sabotage and terrorist group of the main intelligence department of Ukraine’s defense ministry were apprehended who planned to carry out acts of sabotage at facilities of military infrastructure and utilities of the Crimean Peninsula,” the Russian state-run TASS news agency quoted the FSB public relations center as saying.

Accroding to the report, powerful explosive devices, weapons and rounds of ammunition, means of special communications were seized from the detained group along with maps maps of facilities to be targeted by the acts of sabotage.

The trial would be held behind closed doors on November 10.

This is the second detention of Ukrainian sabotuer group in Russia’s Crimea in 2016. The previous incident took place in August and resulted in firefights at the border between Russia and Ukraine.
