Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has eliminated an ISIS cell leader and detained two other terroorists in Rostov Region, the FSB said on July 15.
The leader of the cell opened fire with an automatic rifle on police officers near a village in Rodionovo-Nesvetai District of Rostov Region. An explosive device then exploded in his car, and he died on the spot. Two other members of the cell was detained.
The FSB found explosives, detonators and ammunition were found during during searches.
According to the FSB, the suspects were detected when security services followed the ties of a terrorist cell neutralized in Rostov in April 2018.
