Discussing solutions and further proceeding to prevent more attacks, French legislators suggested solutions differing from increased domestic security measures to cooperating with Russia.

French Legislator Proposes Cooperating with Russia to Prevent More Deadly Attacks

Memers of the French parliament, while discussing solutions to prevent more terroristic attacks, proposed to start coordinating with Russia, Metro News reported. Many legislator called for enhanced security measures. The majority of legislators suggested on increasing monitoring and detaining people on terrorism watch list, strengthen security measures, and attacking manufacturers on encrypting phones.

Eric Ciotti, of Nocolas Sarkozy’s Les Republican Party, suggested a different approach to the situation. His opinion stated that an alliance with Russia, in order to combat the IS and put aside other disagreements over Syria will be more beneficial.

“Russia has shown the most determination in the war against Daesh <…> We need the alliance with Russia, and to set aside the issue of Bashar al-Assad” Ciotti said.

Another legislator, Nicolas Dupont Aignan, of the conservative France Arise party, defended a thesis to create a ‘’European Guantanamo.” The party has only two seats in the French parliament and little electoral support. According to the rules of the French parliament, a member of each parliamentary group has right to pose one question to the government.
