France to lift sanctions against Russia

French President Francois Hollande and country’s Minister of Agriculture Stephane Le Foll personally support the lifting of sanctions on Russia. The government shares this point of view as well.

According to French Minister of Agriculture Stéphane Le Foll, France is able to cancel the economic sanctions against Russia in exchange for the annulation of the Russian embargo on EU food imports.

Stéphane Le Foll also stressed that his ministry has no ability to take a final decision whether to lift sanctions or not – that power lies solely in the hands of Brussels, only the European Union had powers to make such a decision.

The European Union, as well as the United States and some other countries, imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the events in Ukraine in 2014.

In response to the Western sanctions, Moscow announced a food embargo on the European products.

I hope Merkel wins and sanctions will not be lifted.
The sanctions help very much to transform Russian domestic economy and help Russian independence.
At least one year more.
NOw, before the total collapse of NATO in EU, they want suddenly the sanctions lifted. No. NEVER.

Interesting perspective. I am inclined to agree and Russia should continue to pivot to Asian markets. The Europeans are too conflicted by the degenerates in Washington.
