Egypt’s former president and Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Morsi, 67yo, has died suddenly following a court appearance in the country’s capital, Egyptian state television reported.

Morsi collapsed after a trial session in an espionage lawsuit on June 17 for alleged contact with Hamas. Morsi had reportedly got permission from the presiding judge to address the court before he fainted.

According to media reports, he succumbed to a heart attack. However, this still has to be confirmed.

Morsi became the president after Hosni Mubarak had been overthrown in Arab Spring protests in 2011. Then, he was toppled by the military following mass protests in 2013.

Authorities charged him with killing protesters in 2012, espionage involving Qatar, and a jailbreak. In 2015, the former president was sentenced to death for taking part in a mass jailbreak during the Arab Spring protests in 2011. This sentence was overturned the following year.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan became one of the first to express his condolences revealing his “great sadness and sorrow” at hearing of “the death of my brother” via Twitter.

Turkish media outlets have released a series of articles expressing condolences over the death of Morsi and slamming the Egyptian government. It should be noted that  Turkey de-facto supported Morsi when he gained power as a result of Arab Spring protests. After the events of 2013, the group was banned in Egypt and declared as a terrorist organization. Today, the primary state backers of the Muslim Brotherhood are Qatar and Turkey. Muslim Brotherhood is considered a terrorist organization in Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, Syria, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Russia.

Despte the ban, Muslim Brotherhood cells are still active across Egypt. These cells were involved in terrorist attacks across the country. One of the most widely known amongthe international audience is the December 2013 attack in Mansoura that killed 16 people and injured over 100 others.

Brother Thomas

Evidence that the West is not really interested in democracy or democratically elected leaders.

Morsi was appointed by CIA, he was not elected. Rumor has it he might have been “heart- attacked” to prevent him from talking.

verner

sure just as they heartattacked milosevic in den Haag when they couldn’t find sufficient reason to sentence him for the war crimes he was charged with – thus an induced heart attack. most likely the same with Morsi a problem that had to be taken care of and thus an artificially induced heart attack.

ʕノ•ᴥ•ʔノ ︵ ┻━┻ ( ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)╭∩╮

SISI is a zionist shill, Morsi had ties with the muslim brotherhood, which was way better, now egypt is nothing more but a zionist vassal state

Rob

The US CIA have murdered Morsi by his own agent SISI but interestingly no world leader have condemned his death or SISI. This indicates that how many US agents are leaders there in our world.

The Israeli orchestrated show goes on an on.Hamas is a threat Iran is a threat,Syrian forces threat,Hisbollah is a threat even Jesus was a threat to them. But their attacks a

frankly

Who says there is no death sentence?

Shhh

Hurting people is not a solution. The heart attack outcome makes it more difficult for him to be portrayed as a martyr.

Rob

The US terror Intel CIA murdered the former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi by his agent SISI.

Morsi was a most educated and talented person. He was a metallurgical engineer and have worked for NASA on space shuttle design and development. He left America for Egypt to develop it. The Egyptians are illitrate and does not know politics. That is why they lost Morsi.

God forgive his all sins and lead his soul to heaven and give comfort to his loves one. Ameen.

Real Anti-Racist Action

MORSI was the rightful democratically elected president of Egypt. I am a Christian and I say this.
Israel did not like Morsi because he stood for Palestinian rights, and so Israeli intelligence which runs the Egyptian military hierarchy ordered democracy to be overthrown in Egypt and replaced with a UK-style dictatorship.
