Five Civilians Killed In Kurdish Shelling On Southern Turkey (Videos)

A Kurdish shelling on southern Turkey have killed five civilians, including a nine-month old baby, and injured around 70 others, Turkish authorities announced on October 10.

“The first martyrs of Operation Peace Spring were a nine-month-old Syrian baby, Mohammad Omar, and Cihan Gunes, a civil servant working for the tax office in Akcakale,” the Sanliurfa governor’s office said in a statement.

The other three victims were killed in similar attack on the southern province of Mardin, according to the France-Press Agency (AFP).

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which controls northeast Syria, was reportedly behind the shelling. The group is yet to acknowledge its responsibility.

Earlier, 17 civilians were injured in a mortar attack on the Turkish city of Ceylanpınar. The SDF was also blamed for the attack.

These attacks appear to be a response to Operation Peace Spring, which was launched by the Turkish military and its Syrian proxies a day earlier. The operation is aimed at establishing a “safe zone” in northeast Syria.

Turks will be sure to take that out on Kurdish anuses once all the dust settles. SDF should just get over with the inevitable and retreat in a disorganized and beaten manner.
