The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) revealed that the European Union is meddling in Georgia, fueling anti-government movement, including by financing the protesters.
According to the information received by the SVR, the leadership of the European Union aims to “return Georgia to the path of democracy and European integration” at any cost. The European bureaucracy cannot allow the loss of this “important stronghold of Western influence in Transcaucasia.”
European warmongers have switched from threats to pressure. Significant funds were allocated to the EU Delegation in Tbilisi to support and coordinate the protests. Up to 120 euros are allocated to be paid to each of the participants in the anti—government demonstrations per day. The ongoing attempts to fuel protest activity on the streets are aimed to provide the “proofs of the stability of pro-European views among the Georgians.”
The EU is also considering the option of delivering money to Tbilisi from the embassies of the EU countries in Armenia if the Georgian authorities try to block the channels of financing subversive actions.
The EU officials were tasked with working more actively to unite the Georgian opposition parties, like United National Movement, Akhali, For Georgia, European Georgia, Girchi — More Freedom, to create the joint power against the ruling Georgian Dream party.
In addition, the EU is trying to evoke anti-government sentiments in Georgia among opinion leaders, bloggers, journalists, IT specialists, and Russian migrants. The Georgian and European media and NGOs controlled by Brussels are focused on brainwashing this audience with tales about “the advantages of cooperation with Europe and the dead end of the pro-Russian policy vector chosen by the Georgian Dream.”
“Within the framework of the EU Georgian Youth for Europe program, young Georgians will be offered grants of up to 50,000 euros for the implementation of “progressive” projects. The main criterion for allocating funds is the loyalty of the authors to the West,” the SVR added.
The SVR stressed that together with the Georgians, who have already given a decisive response to European encroachments on their country’s sovereignty, European taxpayers should be aware of the shadow side of the EU activity abroad, including in Transcaucasia.
