On Sunday, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he will announce the details of the killing of Saudi Journalist Jamal Khashoggi during a meeting of his party, the Justice and Development (AK), on Tuesday.

“On this issue [Khashoggi’s killing], I will make statements hopefully on Tuesday during the [AK party weekly] group meeting,” Erdogan said during an opening ceremony of the driverless metro line on the Asian side of Istanbul, according to the Turkish Anadolu Agency.

Erdogan added that he will reveal why the 15 Saudis, accused of killing Khashoggi, came to Istanbul and why 18 people were arrested by the Saudi authorities. The Turkish President stressed that this information has to be explained “in details.”

A day earlier, the Saudi Public Prosecution claimed that Khashoggi had died as a result of a “quarrel and a brawl” with personnel he had met inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and security forces had arrested 18 Saudi suspects. Several senior Saudi officials were also sacked by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Turkey has not announced its stand on the Saudi claims so far. However, a spokesman for the AK party, Omer Celik, promised that Turkey will reveal all the details of the murder Khashoggi once the investigation is completed.

Erdogan’s statement today and the information, which was leaked to Western press by Turkish officials, indicates that Ankara is planning to turn the crime into a bargaining chip with the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. The preliminary results of this Turkish plan will likely be observed on Tuesday.

Obviously the Saudis have done something to annoy Turkey, maybe it’s the Saudi controlled terrorists in Idlib?

Brother Ma

Well Turkey and Saudi Barbaria had a falling-out a couple of years ago.We all know that. Otherwise,we would never have found our about this story.

Erdoganistan would have helped disappear the body as well!

Snowglobe

“Turkey have not announced its stand on the Saudi claims so far.”

…except for the small matter of the execution audio tape with details of the screaming as his digits were being cut off, and that the bone cutter asked for music playing head phones to drown out the screaming while he did his work.

…little things like that.

NWOD

That wasn’t Turkey, IIRC, that was anonymous Turkish officials, whatever that means.

Snowglobe

ah! Thanks, I should have realized. It will be interesting to hear from Turkey on Tuesday then.

NWOD

Well, not sure if you’re being sarcastic. But there is a difference between anonymous officials, alleged by some reporter, and an actual government spokesperson saying it. Huge difference. Obviously. So I guess you were being sarcastic. Sorry for questioning that :).

Snowglobe

No, I was not being sarcastic. Although I do have a good sense of humor and I am no stranger to sarcasm. I simply dropped the ball on this one. ;-)

I am aware of the levels of “undisclosed and anonymous sources”. What happened when this “story” broke was my phone went crazy, and I got a bunch of texts asking me if I knew what was going on. I had an early morning class and when I walked in they were hysterically talking about fingers being cut off and execution squads. The media that I usually ignore was talking about it non-stop and they said that there were both video and audio of the execution and that Turkey was going to release them.

Then “poof” magically the story was gone/changed. It miffed me and I was wanting to ring the neck of whoever irresponsibly slopped this story to the media. :-)

Brother Ma

Wasn’t the bonecutter Bostani ,the guy who died mysteriously by car accident?

Snowglobe

I am not sure if he is the alleged bone cutter. I am not even sure if there was a body. ;-)

This story has turned into a soup sandwich. Turkeys report tomorrow will be interesting.

“Meanwhile, according to Yeni Safak, Mashal Saad al Bostani, 31, a lieutenant in the Saudi Air Force and one of the 15 Saudis in the “hit squad,” as the Turks put it, died in a “suspicious car accident” in Riyadh.”

It’s now being reported, that MBS spoke to Khashoggi by phone whilst he was in the embassy.
Khashoggi refused to return to KSA, so they tortured and killed him.

There could be another reason for this killing; US regime change in Saudi especially that the crown prince is interested in buying Russian S400.
