Egypt's Army Kills 85 militants in Sinai Peninsula

On May 25, Egypt’s army announced that the military operation targeted the militants’ positions in the villages of Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah in North Sinai. According to reports, the air and artillery attacks of the Egyptian forces killed some 85 militants.

3 militants were reportedly arrested during the operations. 10 vehicles and 5 motorcycles, belonged to the militants, were destroyed

The recent operations is a part of the wider security effort dubbed “Martyr’s Right.” It’s aimed against the militants’ positions in northern Sinai. It began in September 2015.
