Overnight on December 2, Russian and Ukrainian forces continued exchanging strikes. The Ukrainian Air Force reported an attack by 62 Russian strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), of which 39 were intercepted, according to their data. The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, stated that over the past 24 hours, it had destroyed 45 Ukrainian drones over several regions, including Bryansk, Volgograd, Rostov Regions, Krasnodar Krai, and Crimea.
Against this backdrop, a meeting is scheduled today, December 2, in the Kremlin between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. The White House stated that Whitcoff is bringing a “refined” peace plan for Ukraine to Moscow, initially presented by the Donald Trump administration. According to media reports, the document has been shortened from the original 28 to 21 or even 19 points. Media sources indicate that proponents of continuing the conflict in the West and in Ukraine exerted pressure on the process, resulting in some provisions being removed from the plan. Among the potentially deleted points are the issue of the fate of frozen Russian assets, which was important for European countries, as well as aspects concerning accountability for wartime crimes, on the exclusion of which, according to some reports, Kyiv insisted.
These diplomatic maneuvers are unfolding against a backdrop of growing complexity in transatlantic relations. The Wall Street Journal notes that U.S. European allies have become a factor complicating the rapid achievement of U.S.-Russian agreements on a settlement. According to estimates cited by the NYP, for Europe, the long-term economic and strategic costs of a possible Russian victory ($1.4 to $1.8 trillion) could significantly exceed the costs of current support for Ukraine (approximately $600–970 billion over four years). Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that EU strategic documents indicate preparations for a potential military confrontation with Russia by 2030, pointing to a long-term perception of the threat in European capitals. At the same time, disagreements within the EU are mounting over financial issues, for example, regarding Belgium’s demand for extensive guarantees to issue Ukraine a “reparations loan” using frozen Russian assets, which has met resistance from a number of countries.
Strikes on Ukrainian Territory
Strikes were carried out both in frontline and deep rear regions.
Overnight on December 2: The main targets were facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa Regions, and other regions. In the city of Bolhrad, Odesa Region, a strike on an energy facility caused power outages, with critical infrastructure temporarily switched to generators.
In Dnipropetrovsk Region, damage was recorded to a gas facility south of Priorelske, as well as to a UAV assembly point in Dnipro.
In Kharkiv Region, the target was a temporary deployment point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Chuhuiv Raion.
In Sumy Region, at least 11 strikes were recorded over 24 hours, including the use of strike UAVs.
December 1: Strikes concentrated in the area of the Russian offensive. A bomb strike occurred in the Vovchansk area. A massive attack by “Geran”-type UAVs was carried out on Odesa’s Ovidiyopol. Drones also attacked targets in Chernihiv, Kramatorsk (near the Artemivskyi crossing), and Mykolaiv, where reconnaissance drones were shot down over the “Zorya-Mashproekt” plant.
A Russian strike also targeted an industrial facility in Dnipro. Reports indicate the aim was a workshop assembling various classes of kamikaze UAVs.
Strikes on Russian Territory
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, air defense systems engaged drones in nine regions. The most significant incidents, confirmed by authorities or local sources, occurred in Oryol Region and the Chechen Republic.
In the city of Livny, Oryol Region, Ukrainian UAVs attacked a fuel and energy complex facility. According to local residents, the target was an oil refinery, with a fire reported at the site.
Over the Chechen Republic, according to official data, four unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down. Ukrainian sources reported strikes in the area where “Akhmat” units are stationed in Gudermes, including possible damage to a building, but no official confirmation of this information followed.
Amid ongoing peace negotiations and diplomatic efforts, Russia is gradually seizing the initiative in drone warfare, a shift already acknowledged at the level of Ukrainian military leadership. New models of Russian UAVs with fiber-optic control, such as the “Lancets” and “Molniyas,” provide high range and strike precision, systematically dismantling Ukrainian logistics deep into the rear areas. According to Ukrainian specialists’ accounts, the safe rear no longer exists, and vehicle movement near the front line has become a dangerous gamble. Russia’s modern industrial drone production and integration of advanced technologies are creating a turning point in the conflict, leaving Kyiv unable to effectively sustain frontline positions.

the us will escalate things further by sacrificing europe on the altar of its failing hegemony while pretending to seek peace, pretty much like it sacrificed ukraine.
no question. rubbish article. sf propaganda still pretending the us is a reasonable party.
due to this, some iranian military analysts speculated that the missile was developed based on the wreckage of several amraams that iran retrieved following the 12-day war with israel last june…………. https://psee.io/8ela5d

the goal of “eu” rearmement is to turn public wealth into huge profits from the proposed rearmament, not war. big capital knows that a war with rus would lead to their atomic vaporization. big capital wants to restart the economic clock by printing large quantities of currency to buy weapons with huge markup and so both “defend our values!” and create inflation that will dilute (reform!) the wages and pensions of the middle and lower classes.
and in particular: the eu is an attempt to subordinate the entirety of europe to the designs of ger’s big capital (as was unser führer’s visionary first attempt). the current 4.reich rearmament assumes that the eu in its entirety will be forced to buy high-tech huge-markup ger weapons as nato has been forced to buy ripoff defective low-performance huge-markup us weapons for several generations now.
good cop/bad cop scan. there is no independent european policy outside us dominance.
