The wreckage of a suicide drone was discovered outside the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, in Kiev city on the morning of September 7.
An air alert was activated in the Ukrainian capital in the early morning and air defense fire was observed. The Ukrainian air force claimed later that 58 of the 67 Geran-type drones launched by the Russian military overnight were intercepted. As usual, no evidence of the interceptions was released.
“After today’s night attack by Russian drones, the wreckage of a downed drone was found near the building of the Verkhovna Rada,” the Verkhovna Rada reported on Telegram. “No damage was found.”
The Verkhovna Rada is located in Kiev’s central Pecherskyi district. While the parliament didn’t report any damage, Kiev City Military Administration said that a fire had broken out in an open area of the Pecherskyi district due to falling debris during the overnight drone attack.
Ukrainian media reported that the drone wreckage found near the Verkhovna Rada belonged to a Russian-made Geran. However, photos from the scene showed no similarities.

It’s worth noting that the Russian military stepped up group strikes on Ukraine in recent months in response to repeated attacks on Russian territory by the Kiev regime. Russia targeted decision-making centers in Kiev in the past. However, most recent retaliatory strikes hit military infrastructure and related energy facilities.
