On January 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed another massive attack on the Ukrainian military facilities throughout the country. The Russian Air Force launched a group attack on the facilities of the military industry of Ukraine. High-precision naval and air-based weapons were used, including hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the targets of the strikes included Ukrainian industrial enterprises producing gunpowder, artillery shells and unmanned aerial vehicles. All targets of the strikes were hit.

The strikes began tonight, and continued in the morning. According to the official reports by the Ukrainian military, Ukrainian air defense forces managed to destroy only seven X-101/555 missiles out of more than 30 launched missiles. Unlike during the previous attack, Kiev decided not to lie about the interception of Kinzhal missiles as well.

According to Russian military sources, during the morning attack, the Russian military launched about 35 missiles of various types, including X-22, X-101 and X-555, as well as, most likely, X-55 used as decoys, several Kinzhal missiles, ballistic 9M723 from the Iskander-M missile defense system, S-300 anti-aircraft missiles converted for strikes on the ground targets, as well as X-59 and X-31P anti-radar missiles.

Explosions were reported in the Dnipropetrovks, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kiev, Poltava, Chernigiv, Kirovograd, Volyn, Iano-Frankivsk, Khelnitsk, Rivne.

According to the local reports, some infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Poltava region.

Russian strikes were reported at three Ukrainian airfields, including the airfield in Mirgorod (Poltava region), an airfield in the Rivne region as wall as the Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnitsky region, which is coming under Russian attacks on a regular basis and where the Ukrainian military attempts to restore the infrastructure to welcome F-16 from NATO.

A warehouse with military equipment was reportedly destroyed in the area of Dnepropetrovsk airport. Some missile repair shops came under attack in the city of Dnepropetrovsk itself.

Ukrainian sources confirmed explosions in Kiev. The capital was reportedly attacked by Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. In the Ukrainian capital, explosions thundered in the area of the Artyom military production and repair plant.

Overloaded air defense systems of the Ukrainian military failed to cope with numerous air targets even in the skies over the capital, although it is known that most of air defense systems provided by the West are protecting Kiev.
