Damascus Rejects Turkish-U.S. “Peace Corridor” Agreement On Northeastern Syria

Damascus has rejected the new Turkish-U.S. “peace corridor” agreement on northeastern Syria calling it a “flagrant aggression” against country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A source in the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on August 8 that Damascus sees the agreement as a blatant aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and a flagrant violation of the principles of the international law and the UN Charter.

“This agreement has very clearly exposed the US-Turkish partnership in the aggression against Syria which serves the interest of the Israeli occupation entity and the Turkish expansionist ambitions and it unequivocally exposed the misleading and evasiveness which govern the policies of the Turkish regime,” the source added.

Turkey and the U.S. announced the initial agreement, a day earlier. While the agreement doesn’t specify the steps that both sides will take to establish the “peace corridor,” Turkish sources claim that Kurdish forces will be moved out of the zone.

Damascus held the Kurdish side responsible for the agreement, calling on Kurdish forces to take a stand and defend the country’s sovereignty.

“Some of the Syrian sides of the Kurdish citizens who have been misled and accepted to be a tool and a pretext for this US-Turkish hostile project, bear the historical responsibility for that emerging situation, and it is time to reconsider their calculations and to stand by the side of all the Syrians and the Syrian Arab Army in defending the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and its territorial integrity,” the Syrian source told SANA.

The Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which control most of the northeastern region, are yet to comment on the Turkish-U.S. agreement, or Damascus’ statement.

With Damascus rejecting it and Kurdish forces hesitating to accept it, the agreement could face the same fate as the Turkish-U.S. agreement on Manbij, which was never fulfilled.

Zionism = EVIL

It is time to move beyond words and have a few rocks explode under the Turkeys and their Americunt masters. Both are thugs and inept and casualty averse.

It seems that Syria is not fooled by these so-called ‘confrontations’ between the US and Turdkey. It’s not like this hasn’t happened before, huh? First Turdo rattles his little sabre and sends in more weapons and terrorists…then the US says ‘we have to protect our assets’ and they send in massive weapon shipments. They they have a little confab and everything is hunky dorey because they will agree on a safe zone. Of course all the weapons and terrorists will remain, right? Their hold on the so-called safe zone area is now more secure, having reinforced their terrorists. How many times has this happened? This reminds me of all the cease-fires Turdkey asks for, all the while re-arming and reinforcing their proxies. Same old crap. But Turdkey and the US are on the outs…sure they are. The Kurds are playing their part of being chumps very well. How stupid do the Kurds have to be not to see this? Didn’t one of their people the other day say that they should no longer trust the US and make nice with Syria? They should listen to him, otherwise they are doomed to be the sacrificial lamb yet again. It wouldn’t hurt for the Kurds to look at their leadership and wonder what exactly they’re up to and if they are really working for the them…or the US/Israel.

Brother Ma

The Kurds have been dumb as dogpoo for centuries. Always used by others for their own petty advantages. For years they thought they were Turks and now slowly they will be taught that they are long-lost Jews. Cutthroats for hire is the best they have ever been.

klove and light

same bs cry Baby talk as usual…… take the houhtis for example or hezbollah…….invading Forces should be attacked day in and day out….make the inavasion and occupation as uncomftablke as possible….
well in SAA case…..the invading Forces are having Barbecue and ball games…no woryy of getting attacked..the USA bastards are having a joyful occupation of east and south syria..turkish bastards are only attacked by YPG……..should make Folks thinke here About SAA political Leadership….how come YPG can attack turkish Forces day in and day out(hundresd of attacks), in afrin area and elsewhere, and the biggg SAA army did not attack ONE fucking single time…NOT ONCE…………..

You think you could do better?
Have you noticed that the SAA is very poorly equipped?
That they daily face the latest US weapons? The US military provides drones and intelligence on SAA movements to the head-choppers. The head-choppers even have modern Russian weapons. With every assault the SAA loses men, tanks, and armor to very modern US ATGMs. The SAA cannot go any faster than they can replenish their losses. Never forget that Israel is on the southern border always attacking radar and observation posts within Syria, the US actively attacks the SAA, even gloating over shooting down a Su-22 that was supporting a SAA ground operation within Syria, Jordan isn’t helping one bit, and Erdogan wants to take all of Syria.

Brother Ma

Simply because the yankers don’t attack the kurd-dogs for doing so but do attack the Syrians for firing on the Turks. It isn’t rocket science yet I agree that the Syrians should do more more more!

Willing Conscience (The Truths

The ALF still has no known official supporters, yet they have weapons and vehicles, logistical support, intelligence assistance, and are allowed sanctuary somewhere, who is there new mysterious supporter, how do they survive so far away from their Kurdish brothers in the East, any guesses.
Assad will have a lot more Kurds switching to his side now, which means the SDF will lose a lot more of their very best and most experienced Kurdish fighters, as if they haven’t lost enough already, LOL.
