According to the Federation Council, significant amounts of counterfeit US currency are expected to hit the financial system of Ukraine in October 2015. It was reported that in May, A. Radkevich, the head of Unicom Bank, traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, where he met with the sellers of counterfeit dollars (offered at 50 cents per dollar). The quality of the above mentioned lot of counterfeit dollars explains such a high price (ATMs accept them), and the sellers themselves were big businessmen linked to the Qatari security forces. The only difference from the real dollars is a series on the notes which are not printed in the United States.

In the summer of 2015 Radkevich wanted to sell part of the counterfeit dollars to representatives of one of the largest banks in Turkey ( Turkish State Ziraat Bank) , but supposedly they were not satisfied with too high price .
