Combat Footage: Libyan National Army Continues Its Advance Towards Tripoli

The Libyan National Army (LNA) continued its advance towards the capital, Tripoli, on April 24 and captured the Aziziyah roundabout and the town of al-Sayanon from forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA), according to Libyan sources.

The army’s media office has not confirmed these claims yet. However, it released a video of the ongoing clashes south of Tripoli. In the video, LNA forces can be seen targeting GNA positions with heavy machine guns and battle tanks.

In the last few days, the LNA failed to make any new gains on the road to Tripoli. On the other side, pro-GNA forces suffered from heavy loses while attempting to recapture several towns south of the Libyan capital.

According to a recent report of the World Health Organization, Tripoli battle has claimed the lives of 264 people since its beginning earlier this month. Another 1,266 people were injured and more than 35,000 others were forcible displaced.

With no clear winner so far, the calls for a ceasefire are getting louder. The European Union is reportedly working on an initiative that would achieve this goal. However, the LNA command, which is enjoying a wide support from most Arab states, may opt to continue its attack.

The US has 2 carriers in the Med?

goingbrokes

WHO report on lives claimed by this conflict. Isn’t it interesting that they keep such an accurate (?) tally on this. But when the US is attacking somewhere the figures get all confused.
