Combat Footage: Houthis Repel Large-Scale Saudi Attack In Saada

The Houthis (Ansar Allah) repelled on July 24 a large-scale attack by the Saudi-led coalition and its local proxies on their positions in the area of Abuab al-Hadid in the northern Yemeni province of Saada.

A video released by the Yemeni group’s media wing shows Houthi fighters targeting positions and vehicles of Saudi-backed forces in Abuab al-Hadid, near Saudi border, with mortars and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) . Dozens of Saudi-backed fighters can be also seen fleeing the battlefield after the failure of the attack.

Apache attack helicopters of the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) supported the failed attack in Abuab al-Hadid by conducting several airstrikes on Houthi forces. However, the airstrikes were apparently ineffective.

The Saudi-led coalition has been trying to secure the area between Abuab al-Hadid and Alb border crossing in northern Saada for more than 4 years now with no success. The Houthis’ better understanding of the region’s rough terrain has given them a major advantage.

Why do the Saudis fight? They must know by now that they cannot win.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

For money probably, most of them are mercs, and probably underestimate the power of the houthis, and the rest are just braindead i guess

goingbrokes

For their survival. It is not as simple as just walking away from a fight that you started. If you’re not careful your opponent will follow you all the way home. Saudis are just beginning to realise that, and are throwing good money after bad, and more mercs. In the end they will achieve nothing at all – the impotent kings!
