The Houthis resumed on August 13 their advance in the northern Yemeni province of al-Jawf and captured several positions from the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies.
According to the al-Masirah TV, Houthi fighters secured several positions in the border area of Astar in the northern part of al-Jawf. The fighters also captured loads of ammunition and weapons, including heavy machine guns.
This new push is a part of a large-scale military operation, which was launched by the Houthis earlier this month. The Yemeni group’s fighters captured dozens of positions and killed more than 41 personnel of Saudi-backed forces in the first phase of the operation.
The Saudi-led coalition and its proxies have failed to repel the Houthis offensive, so far. The Houthis, on their part, are apparently planning to develop their operation.
