The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is equipping its special forces with futuristic combat weapons like CornerShot-like pistols, knife guns, and grenade-launching assault rifles.
PLA special forces are being groomed into “super soldiers” to meet the requirements of the modern battlefield, according to Global Times.
The wide variety of advanced guns are being deployed with the Xuefeng Special Operation Brigade under the PLA 76th Group Army, CGTN News reported on Monday.
The CornerShot-like pistol system allows its operator to both see and attack the enemy, without exposing them to a counterattack. In dangerous urban warfare, the new system allows the operator to accurately shoot around a wall without exposing them to hostile threats, the report said.
China has manufactured three CornerShot-like weapons to date: the HD-66, which is a replica of the CornerShot, and the CF-06. Both models were unveiled at the 4th China Police Expo by Chongqing Changfeng Machinery and Shanghai Sea Shield Technologies.
The third one, known as the CS/LW9, was developed and manufactured by the China Ordnance Industry Research Institute in 2005. It has a handle at the bottom that can be used to turn the LW9 around corners.
All three systems use the QSZ-92 as the primary pistol.
Neither Global Times or CGTN News clarified which CornerShot-like pistol was deployed to PLA special forces.
Another futuristic combat weapon PLA forces are using is the knife gun. It hides the bullets inside what seems to be a knife, which can be fired in close combat environments, the report said.
The last weapon is the grenade-launching assault rifle, also known as the Individual Comprehensive Operation System QTS-11, is an air burst grenade launcher integrated with the QBZ-03 assault rifle that has been in service with the PLA since 2015, according to the report.
“With these weapons, super soldiers capable of 1 vs. 10 will be created,” Wei Dongxu, a Beijing-based military analyst, told the Global Times on Tuesday.
CGTN News said it is rare for these advanced weapons to be broadcasted on television.
“Training using these sci-fi weapons shows that related technologies are very mature,” Wei said.
“The weapons are made for special forces… Some standard troops will also use them in the future,” he added, adding that these high-tech weapons will remain exclusive to special forces due to high costs.
For now, these weapons are being used in special force combat units to further the PLA’s modernization efforts, CGTN News concluded.
Are we to assume that corners are safe? what if the opponent riddles the corner itself? Reaction time would be faster too.
The knife is a deception. Whoever invented it has no honor. lol
Aren’t grenade launchers in assault rifles already standard like in the old movies? lol
Pity we have not seen any of these “futuristic weapons” in Syria.
There’s a reason for that – look up my post above.
“People who talk about Chinese “super soldiers”, army capabilities etc. Please give us some examples of China’s successful employment of its armed forces within last 100 years.”
This ?.
Yes. China can’t afford to loose its face and they know that their actual military capabilities are questionable.
So a corner shot copy
A Russian ballistic knife copy
and a XM25 copy
amazing.
so all the airplanes are copies of the Wright Flyer?
Why these “points” rarely come out when it’s the US or Israel doing the copying?
Half of the F-35 is in fact the Yak-141 Freestyle, and that is the half that works.
Half? More like fully a copy of the Yak-141.
And thats not all the US copyed the use of smooth bore tank guns and APFSDS ammo form Russia they copyed the use of multilayer composite armor the use of APS system in their tanks the use of laster range finders and also the MiG25 got copyed by the F15.
The americans bought the yak-141 license. But the important things, the
stealth technology, electronics, etc. are fully american products. The
form is not so important. The inner is much more.
The electronics are usually Chinese made while the stealth basis is Russian.
a talk about americam aircrafts
People who talk about Chinese “super spldiers”, army capabilities etc. Please give us some examples of China’s successful employment of its armed forces within last 100 years.
Tibet, Korea. Why do you ask?
Those were not succesful at list I don’t see it this way.
Well they prevented US taking over the entire Korean peninsula, and more. Invasion of Tibet was taking over a very large piece of real estate. I don’t have to think that it was the right thing to do, but militarily it was successful. Both those wars were conducted with very very basic equipment. China now is a superpower in comparison. Like Russia its posture is defensive and let’s pray it stays that way – we don’t need another globalist empire.
North Korea
At best it could be considered as partial success – at list the way I see it.
“The supersoldier (or super soldier) is a concept soldier, often fictional, capable of operating beyond normal human limits or abilities.
Fictional supersoldiers are usually heavily augmented, either through eugenics, genetic engineering, cybernetic implants, drugs, brainwashing, traumatic events, an extreme training regimen or other scientific and pseudoscientific means. Occasionally, some instances also use paranormal methods, such as black magic or technology and science of extraterrestrial origin. …
Some fictional supersoldiers can also be categorized as cyborgs or cybernetic organisms because of augmentations that are intended to enhance human capabilities or to exceed physical human restrictions.”

The Chinese soldiers described in this article might meet the minimum thresholds of the definition of a supersoldier that most people associate with the term. Usually a supersoldier is considered to be some type of enhanced human being with non conventional capabilities. Such as accelerated wound healing, resistance to injuries, physical strength and endurance beyond what can normally be obtained by physical conditioning and training, mental or psychic abilities that earth humans don’t normally possess, etc..
I’m sure that a number of nations, and China is probably one of them, that have human experimentation supersoldier programs. That are classified both because they contain sequestered military technology. But also because they involve human and civil rights violations of the test subjects involved. Whether they’re volunteers, clones, prisoners, patients with life threatening injuries or other categories.
I ran an ET/ED contact recon op last night. I’m recovering from a hip injury, so it was primarily vehicle based with little foot travel. I have immediate family with joint replacements, and that’s not a route that I want to go. I’m not overweight and am probably in the top 1% of physical conditioning for a 60 year old man. So I’m using sports and nutritional supplements and healthy living to try to get the body to heal itself.
I was up in the mountains on bare and snow covered dirt roads to look at LZs that would be suitable this time of year when there a lot fewer people traveling in these areas. That could impede contact. I brought 4 tire chains and a manual 4 ton cable winch. Which I didn’t have to use.
I ran camera equipment tests for thermal imaging, night vision, and night pictures and video using auxiliary lighting. The thermal imaging went well, the night vision IR illumination and auxiliary lighting capabilities that I currently have need upgrading to attain the level of performance capability that I’d like to have to be fully functional for the camera’s capabilities to have full width and depth field of vision with good focus. And to be adjustable to avoid under or over illumination.
There wasn’t any non conventional activity. There are two LZs that have excessive travel from other people in the summer for effective seclusion for contact work, that look to be usable this time of year. One below the snow line, and one above. The snow covered LZ would require tire chains in the event of more snow, and would have to be evacuated if a storm comes in while I’m up there that could result in being snowed in and having to walk out.
This is the equipment load out for last night’s op. The 11 shot .32 was in my winter cargo pant’s pocket. The 9 mm and .40 S&W stayed in the case on the passenger’s seat in case they were needed, they weren’t. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c8e85dbfc167dbd25d822dab6b8c7bac5bb10193b1788b31d844c1f62a24d15c.jpg

If the German politician assaulted by 3 assailants had had an 11 shot .32ACP in his pocket loaded with this ammunition like I do. He wouldn’t have ended up in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Though the thugs may of, or the morgue.
