The plot of the visit of speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan is thickening.
Pelosi is leading an official congressional delegation to Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore in Asia. Officially, Taiwan is not included if the U.S. official’s tour.
However, on August 1, information about Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan was claimed again, including by the US top officials. A source in Taiwan’s foreign ministry confirmed to United Daily News that the plane will land on the island on the evening of August 2, and on August 3, Pelosi has a meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen. Taiwanese officials claimed that a meeting between US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and pro-Taiwanese independence politician You Si-kun was scheduled for Wednesday morning in Taiwan, despite Taiwan’s Presidential Office and Foreign Affairs Ministry Declining to confirm Pelosi’s trip.
Pelosi is expected to arrive at about 9.20 pm local time. The delegation of the US speaker has reportedly booked 48 rooms at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Taipei. Security measures in the building and in the surrounding area have been strengthened.

The plane, with allegedly Nancy Pelosi on board, has turned towards Taiwan and is now flying over the Sulawesi Sea, according to Flightradar. The US special flight carrying out flight SPAR 19 from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur made a turn in the air and headed for the Philippines and Taiwan.

US Air Force fighter jets, escorted by tankers, are lifted from a base in Japan to escort Pelosi’s plane. The Taiwanese aviation authorities confirm the arrival of the special aircraft at Taipei airport soon.
All Taiwanese-controlled islands were put on top alert levels for first time since Taiwan Strait Crisis of 1996.
China warned Biden that if Pelosi arrives in Taiwan, the army will intervene. The Global Times reported that the Chinese army is stronger than the American military escort and is ready to “expel, intercept and escort” the Nancy Pelosi’s board away from Taiwan, and if the flight continues, military aircraft can fire shells in front of him.
In turn, Zhao Lijian, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman: “If Pelosi visits Taiwan, it will be a gross interference in China’s domestic politics … and will lead to very serious consequences. The People’s Liberation Army of China will not sit idly by.”
The US is trying to challenge China’s sovereignty over Taiwan and is deliberately trying to create an incident in the Taiwan Strait – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
In response to US provocations, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has increased its forces in the southeast of the country. At the Longtan Airbase, 125 kilometers from the coast of Taiwan, J-11 and J-16 fighters were spotted, as well as Su-27s purchased from Russia. The old J-6 fighters, converted into drones, were also deployed in the area. They are capable of distracting enemy air defenses, serving as a means of electronic suppression or kamikaze drones.
Both aircraft carriers of the PLA were moved out from ports, according to China State media.

Eyewitnesses report sirens sounding at Chinese military airfields and in Eastern Fujian province, closest region to Taiwan in mainland China. Chinese aircraft are reportedly flying combat patrols into Taiwanese air identification zone, with Taiwanese planes launching in response.

Who is officially representing the Taiwan government in announcing its independence? Certainly not the government! They are pro One China policy! So it can only be unelected political parties. So therefore the act of declaring independence is from an unofficial source and therefore has no validity or credibility with any UN decrees or international laws. So if there really is a Declaration of Independence and the USG accepts it then it is not legitimate and therefore the world including the paper tiger, the UN, SHOULD ignore it totally! It should not be officially recognised because it would not come from a officially recognised government.
