On Friday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri visited frontlines in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, according to the Iranian IRNA news agency. The sources reported that Maj. Gen. Baqeri said that terrorist groups are taking their last breaths in Syria.

The Iranian Tasnim news agency said that Maj. Gen. Baqeri met with Iranian military advisers, and the “resistance front forces” during his visit. According to Tasnim Maj. Gen. Baqeri described the coordination among the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the resistance forces as “exemplary”.

“Thanks God…, we are witnessing remarkable successes of the resistance front and the shrine defenders against the terrorist groups,” Maj. Gen. Baqeri said while addressing soldiers and officers on a frontline in Aleppo, according to Tansim.

Syrian opposition activists said that the aim of the visit is to prepare for post-ISIS military operations against the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS; formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in Aleppo and Idlib governorates.

The Syrian Arab Army, Hezbollah and Iranian-backed armed groups will likely launch a wide-scale military operation to break the HTS siege on al-Fu’ah and Kafriya towns in the eastern Idlib countryside, according to pro-government sources. Another military operation to capture Aleppo-Hama highway might be launched by the SAA and the Tigers Forces after ISIS is defeated.

Maj. Gen. Baqeri visit to the Aleppo came hours only after an HTS-affiliated group attacked an air defense base of the SAA in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, according to opposition sources. However, the SAA repelled the attack, and targeted several positions of HTS in the area.

Benjanyahu does not know the power of Iran. Iran will takeout every single feather of Benjanyahu.

RJ_McBean

If it comes down to a hot war, the Iranian army won’t be much more than target practice.

Rob

You mean Israeli refugees are greater power? That is why when Israel see Iranian army forces so then they do pee in their trousers due to fair.
Iran is a hidden nuclear power but they don’t show themselves.

RJ_McBean

So you’re conceding that the only adversary that the Iranian army is a threat to is unarmed civilians. I have to agree with that.

Rob

Israel cannot win from Afghani Taliban after waisting trillion of US dollars still Taliban control 75% Afghanistan. Afghani Taliban are those that have no latest heavy weapons. Now till me can Israel win from Iran that have modern heavy weapons like nuclear weapons + long range delivery systems? What is America that is actually Jewmerica or Israel.

RJ_McBean

Since when did Afghanistan become Israel’s war to fight? Iran doesn’t have nuclear squat. They’re working on it, but they’re not there yet. If they were they would have already been declaring themselves a nuclear state just like the evil munchkin in North Korea is doing.

Iran went to war with Iraq back in the 1980’s and fought an 8 year long bloody conflict that finally ended in a stalemate. In 2003 the U.S. accomplished in 3 weeks what Iran couldn’t do in 8 years. In the ensuing time since then the U.S. and Israel have been updating and upgrading their militaries even more. Iran hasn’t done anything. Up until Obama screwed the pooch and lifted the sanctions on Iran, they had to cannibalize their aircraft so that they could at least keep some of them flying. Israel is currently ranked on the Global Firepower list at 15 (U.S. is #1), Iran is #21 right after…Thailand.

Rob

On the pretext of buffer zone actually Israeli refugees annexing land from surrounding countries.

One day they will pay for their greedy behavior.

Rob

Of course.

Quids Force , Hezbollah , we thank you .

Garga

That is interesting: Why would HTS-affiliated terror group attack an air defence base? They don’t have an airforce to be worried about the air defence and it shouldn’t be a priority for them.
Unless they want to protect the airplanes of someone which backs them, has an airforce and is worried about the Syrian air defence.

I wonder who’s airforce they want to protect?

Barba_Papa

I doubt its still an air defense base. But any military base still has useful installations and can be a major defensive position that could command control of the area around it. As such it would make it a target for any enemy to take.

Garga

Maybe you’re right.

Or, it could be that they want to knock the air defence down for their (and other terror groups’) backers which came to their rescue multiple times in the past and even yesterday, by coordinated air attacks (except for yesterday).
Because storks and stuff.

Barba_Papa

I don’t think there’s still any active air defense system on any air defense base that’s in or near the frontline. The smart thing to do is to move any assets away from the frontline to a more secure location. Of course after 6 years of civil war chances are they didn’t and any assets have already been stripped away by both sides and its just the real estate both sides are still after.

Rob

America preparing another chemical attack in Syria.

goingbrokes

No, I don’t think so. They have just admitted that the chemical attacks were by the terrorists and not Syrian government.
