The British Military Intelligence acknowledged that the Russian T-14 Armata main battle tank is a sensation that has revolutionized the field of tank-building in the last half-century, the Sunday Telegraph newspaper reported, citing an internal briefing paper of the UK Ministry of Defense, which was obtained by local media.

According to the newspaper, the intelligence department has criticized the strategy of the country’s authorities in which there were no plans to build a tank that could match the Armata.

“Without hyperbole, Armata represents the most revolutionary step change in tank design in the last half century. Unsurprisingly, the tank has caused a sensation,” Sunday Telegraph quoted the document.

In particular, officers of the British intelligence noted a revolutionary turret design that provides greater protection for crew. The T-14 is also lighter, faster and more compact than its Western competitors. The tank is equipped with new composite armor and a gun with a high muzzle velocity and an ability to use upgraded anti-tank missiles.

“As a complete package, Armata certainly deserves its billing as the most revolutionary tank in a generation,” the newspaper concludes.

John

Brought to you by the folks that made the T-34. I don´t get NATO and a host of fools, that are all set to confront ´Russian Aggression´, because they can make some money for some other groups of fools. I had a feeling by 2015 that the West was not comfortable at all going at it with Russia, as much as they mocked it. This just confirms for me, that I was not much off the mark.

I am surprised it took as long as it did to get a tank with a fully automated turret, given the big advantages it brings in battle. Anyway its appropriate that the Russians would be ahead of the game like they did with the T-34.
