In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Russian units have expanded their zone of control in the Lukyanivske area. Reports also indicate that they have established control over Richne. In the Pokrovsk sector, the Russian army has advanced towards Belytske and Novyi Donbas. Fighting and counterattacks are ongoing there. In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian units are advancing, fighting in the Nykyforivka area and on the heights west of Bondarne. In the Sloviansk sector, the assault on Krasnyi Liman continues with a broad envelopment, as well as fighting in Oleksandrivka and the Yarova area. In the Sumy and Kharkiv sectors, assault groups are advancing quickly, overcoming resistance and difficult weather conditions. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Hungary does not take sides in the conflict in Ukraine and only defends its own interests.
Kramatorsk Sector
In the Kramatorsk area, Russian forces continue to take offensive actions and repel counterattacks. The situation remains complex. They are attempting to regain control of lost positions or, at the very least, halt the advance. Additional forces specializing in drone use have been transferred to the area.
Fighting continues in Nykyforivka and the surrounding area. Russian assault groups have advanced through tree lines on the slopes of the heights west of Bondarne and in the southern part of Nykyforivka, north of the Kopanky gully. Height 195.5 has been captured, threatening the rear of a strongpoint on the slope of a height in the northern part of the gully.
A wedge has effectively been driven into the combat formations between Pryvillya and Fedorivka Druha. This allows the flank of units advancing in the Pryvillya–Holubivka–Minkivka area to be covered and creates a threat of a direct breakthrough into Fedorivka Druha and the forested areas to the south. It also practically cuts off the terrain section with groups between Bondarne and Pryvillya in the Khromovskyi forest area.
Advancing further into Fedorivka Druha will expand the offensive front towards the key location of Rai-Oleksandrivka. Fierce fighting continues for positions on the heights northwest of Pryvillya, where counterattacks are being launched. Fighting also continues in the Holubivka area and on the western Minkivka outskirts.
To the southwest, Russian units have driven the Ukrainian forces out of Markove and consolidated their position. There is ongoing fighting for strongpoints on the heights between Novomarkove and Markove. Intense counterbattles are occurring in the Maiske and Veroliubivka area.
Zaporizhzhia Sector
In the Orikhiv area of the Zaporizhzhia sector, Russian units have increased their control over the Lukyanivske area as a result of intense combat operations.
In the Huliaipole area, Russian troops have reportedly established control over Petrivka as a result of intense combat operations. These advances strengthen positions and create additional preconditions for expanding the zone of control on the flanks. Intense clashes continue in the Yelenokostiantynivka area.
In the Prymorske area, airborne units are fighting for control of Prymorske and the neighboring village of Richne. Richne is a village stretched along one street, and there are dacha plots between it and Prymorske. Groups continue to infiltrate these areas in an attempt to consolidate and resist the advance.
It is premature to speak of full and stable control over Prymorske and Richne as there are still infiltrations into the villages. The situation in Lukyanivske is similar: Russian assault groups are penetrating the settlement, but they do not control it. Fighting also continues in Novoyakovlivka, Pavlivka, and Novoboykivske.
The Ukrainian command has reinforced the defense in the Zaporizhzhia area with new drone units, significantly increasing their numbers. Artillery fire from Lysohirka and Bilenke, which are located on the opposite bank of the Dnieper, has also increased. Despite the difficulties and severe weather conditions, the advance of the airborne units continues.
Sloviansk Sector
In the Krasnyi Liman area of the Slovyansk sector, there are ongoing assault operations involving the capture of territory from Drobyshevo in the northwest to Dibrova in the southeast.
In Oleksandrivka, Russian units are advancing into the eastern part of the settlement. Ukrainian units are launching counterattacks from the forested area near Krymka. In the Sviatohirsk area, near the hospital, there is intense fighting; attacks are being repelled, and an offensive is developing in a southwestern direction.
Fierce clashes continue in the Yarova and Drobychevo area. The Ukrainian command has attempted to counterattack toward Novoselivka several times. These attempts were thwarted, and the remaining personnel withdrew to the forests north of Drobychevo.
In the Stavky area, there are attempts to penetrate the southern part of the settlement. Attacks are being repelled and previously captured positions are being held. In Krasnyi Liman itself, an advance of approximately two kilometers from the eastern side has been noted.
Sumy Sector
In the Sumy sector, assault groups are advancing at a high pace deeper into the region. Artillery and heavy flamethrower systems are operating intensely. Aviation and strike drone crews are targeting positions and logistical nodes in rear areas.
Russian assault units advanced on eleven subsectors in the Sumy district and on three in the Hlukhiv district. The total advance amounts to up to 900 meters.
According to available information, there is growing dissatisfaction with the command staff among personnel in the Ukrainian 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade. There have been reports of refusal to follow orders and subsequent abandonment of positions. The brigade commander’s authority is reportedly low.
Russian aviation strikes destroyed the 17th and 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigades’ positions in the Pavlivka and Volfino areas.
Kharkiv Sector
Intense combat operations continue on all parts of the front in the Kharkiv region. Due to difficult weather conditions, logistics in Kharkiv have almost completely ground to a halt. Municipal services reportedly cannot cope with the snowfall and icy roads due to a shortage of drivers who were mobilized earlier.
In the Starytsia area, Russian assault groups advanced on two subsectors by 250 meters, supported by artillery. Focal resistance is being offered in the forest near Symynivka; the advance was 300 meters on three subsectors.
In the Volchanskiy Khutora area, Russian heavy flamethrower system crews targeted the 15th Border Group and the 157th Separate Mechanized Brigade’s positions. In the Khatin part, the air force struck the 3rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade and the 61st Separate Mechanized Brigade in the Velykyi Burluk area. Assault groups advanced 450 meters on three subsectors.
Pokrovsk Sector
In the Pokrovsk sector, there has been an active advance towards Belytske. Recently, Russian assault groups entered the settlement and consolidated their position. Currently, they are saturating the area with personnel and advancing deeper.
Several days ago, forward groups also entered Novyi Donbas. Meanwhile, the frontline to the east has stabilized, and Novoye Shakhtovo is under control. There are attempts to counterattack positions on the Belytske–Rodynske line. To this end, the Ukrainian 25th Separate Air-Assault Brigade has reportedly arrived with reinforcements and a large number of armored vehicles.
The day before, the Ukrainian command launched a diversionary attack from Hirshyne in an attempt to reach the southern outskirts of Rodynske. The attack was thwarted at the deployment stage, and vehicles and personnel were destroyed or retreated. The increased attention to the Rodynske–Sukhetske section is not accidental. Given the successes near Belytske, there is a potential threat of semi-encirclement in the area west of Rodynske, which could force Ukrainian units to launch counterattacks to stabilize the front.
Conclusion
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, a progressive increase in the zone of control in key areas such as Lukyanivske and Richne is noted, despite stubborn resistance and the reinforcement of defenses with additional assets. This creates bridgeheads for further movement towards Zaporizhzhia. In the Pokrovsk sector, the successful penetration of Belytske and Novyi Donbas threatens the defense flank in the Rodynske area and has provoked fierce counterattacks involving reserves. In the Kramatorsk sector, the main struggle is for control of the heights and forested areas around Nykyforivka and Pryvillya. Tactical wedges could lead to the operational envelopment of important nodes, such as Fedorivka Druha. In the Sloviansk sector, the Krasnyi Liman area has seen a protracted assault with street battles and constant counterattacks. However, the advance in the eastern part of the city and pressure along the perimeter are gradually narrowing the defense’s possibilities. In the Sumy sector, the fastest advance is being maintained. Combined with firepower against the rear, this has a demoralizing effect on parts of the Ukrainian forces. In the Kharkiv sector, units are managing to advance slowly but methodically despite extreme weather conditions complicating logistics for both sides. They are pressing the defense around Vovchansk and in forested areas.
“Hungary is not taking sides in the conflict in Ukraine and is only defending its own interests,” stated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. “Whose side is Hungary on—the Ukrainian or the Russian? Why should I choose one side or the other? I am on Hungary’s side,” Orbán said, speaking at an event in Hatvan, Hungary. The broadcast was carried by the M1 TV channel. According to Orbán, Hungary is not obligated to “define its position through someone else” and should “defend its national interests.” “We cooperate with those who help us better defend our interests. We will buy gas and oil from Russia. After the war ends, we will have to build good neighborly relations with the Ukrainians. There is a place for everything,” Orbán noted. Orbán previously stated that Hungary will no longer allow itself to be drawn into conflict for the sake of others’ interests, as it did during World War II when it fought alongside Nazi Germany.
