BREAKING: Ukrainian UAVs Targeting Sevastopol In Crimea

Russian soldiers guard a pier where two Ukrainian naval ships are moored, in Sevastopol, Ukraine, on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

On January 2, the AFU continued their attempts to attack the Russian city of Sevastopol in Crimea. So far, at least two Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted over the city. Russian air defence forces are in action.

The head of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev confirmed that the UAVs were intercepted over the Black Sea and asked the locals to keep calm. There were no reports of explosions and destruction in the city.

The Ukrainian military is targeting the Russian peninsula on a regular basis. Another UAV was shot down near Sevastopol on December 31. Prior to that, a drone was intercepted on December 30.

The AFU also attempted to hit targets in Crimea with kamikaze UAVs from the northern direction. On December 31, at least one drone was shot down over the town of Dzhankoy located in the northern part of the peninsula. According to local reports, there were several aerial targets intercepted by Russian air defence forces.

Crimea remains one of the main footholds of the Russian military. The city of Sevastopol is one of the main military ports of Russia. So far, the Ukrainian military has failed to inflict any significant damage to the Russian military on the peninsula.
