Footage from the frontlines confirmed the destruction of the first American Abrams main battle tank in Ukraine. The tank was destroyed only a day after the Ukrainian military shared a pompous video of the tank riding near the frontlines in the Avdeevka region. Russian soldiers are ruining the myths of the almighty Western equipment.
Confirmed. The first American Abrams MBT with BRAT active armor system was destroyed on the Avdeevka frontlines:
The Abrams tank was first spotted by Russian forces near the village of Berdychi. It was moving under close control of the Russian reconnaissance UAV.
The tank was reportedly destroyed by the servicemen of the Russian 15 Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. The tank was first attacked by the small and cheap FPV drone, and then finished off with a light anti-tank grenade launcher. The additional active armor did not save the tank from the usual attack of small forces.
The Abrams tanks from the US were reportedly deployed with the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which lost a lot of NATO equipment during the failed counteroffensive in the area of Rabotino in the Zaporozhie region.
The Abrams tanks were deployed on the frontlines for the first time in the Avdeevka region. Previously, the Ukrainian military tried its best to assure the public that the advanced vehicles have been taking part in the battles for months, sharing footage of these tanks in the rear areas. LINK, LINK Kiev’s patrons in Washington likely prohibited to deploy their advanced tanks on the frontlines till the last in an attempt to save the ruined reputation of the Western military equipment. The final deployment of Abrams tanks in Avdeevka signals the critical situation of the Ukrainian army in general and particularly in the Donetsk direction.
The deployment of these precious tanks in their first battles was confirmed only a day before.
American Abrams tanks were first spotted near the line of contact northwest of Avdiivka, – advisor to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky claimed on February 25.

The destruction was not long to wait.
The AFU used the precious US tanks in the near rear areas, from where they were shelling the battlefields from a distance, immediately hiding in the special fortified hideout. Several Abrams tanks were reportedly destroyed or damaged by Russian fire in the rear areas, but any damage to the US tanks have never been confirmed by any footage or official claims before.
Recently, the Russian troops also destroyed a mine clearance vehicle based on the Abrams system in the same Avdeevka area.
All the NATO countries are sending their weapons to the Ukrainian military, including to show their effectiveness on the battlefield to sell them around the world. Unfortunately, the professionalism of the Russian Army is ruining their plans and the myth of the almighty western military equipment which does not withstand the strikes of cheap small UAVs.
