The interim government of Libya, supported by the army of General Khalifa Haftar, submitted its resignation to Parliament. The decision was made amid protests in the region.
The interim government of Libya, which sits in the East of the country, has submitted its resignation to the House of Representatives. This was reported by Al Arabiya TV channel with reference to the statement of the Parliament.
The decision to resign was made during an emergency meeting held by the head of the Parliament, Aguila Saleh. The participants discussed the possible ways to respond to the demands of protesters.
Over the past few days, there have been a number of protests in Libya. Demonstrations were held against the deterioration of living conditions, in particular high prices for fuel, essential goods and food, as well as power outages, which sometimes was cut for several hours.
Similar protests took place in late August in the Western region, including Tripoli, which is controlled by the Government of National Accord (GNA), headed by Prime Minister Faiz Sarraj. The demonstrators were also dissatisfied with the economic situation and corruption in the country, as well as frequent power and water outages, and demanded Sarraj’s resignation.
The resignation of the Government occurred both under the influence of public opinion and as a consensus of the elites who control the West of the country. The leading role is played by the Parliament and the high military command of the LNA forces. These two groups have a decisive influence on the current political situation in this region. Apparently, by means of the Government’s resignation, these forces will try to both reduce the protest intensity and redistribute spheres of influence within the Executive body of the region.
love ya boys..Famine will be your destiny Haftar…

GNA is not in a better condition mate. One has the oil another has the port, they need to work together
so much actors there its impossible them to work simultaneously…Gna secured Tripoli and we’ll help them to recover..no worries..
LNA has more resources under ground though, GNA oil is not profitable enough just with west side
lna has more resources but shareholders of these resources are more too …and our aim was to capture tripoli and huge naval base, accomplished… bonus was to capture sirte but since intimidation of egypt-france we had to stop..too far we couldnt afford it..we will supply them cheap electric with floating plants…np..
We stopped short of taking Sirte because we think they are ready to sit at the negotiating table having lost a lot of ground. We’ll still win at the negotiating table especially if the resolution leads to a nationwide free-and-fair election. The UN should step in and give Libyans the democracy they are asking for.
Let the Libyans choose who rules them, and not dictators taking advantage in power vacuums and even claiming legitimacy. The same thing is happening in Egypt. Sisi will fall soon God willing.
LOL CC is ” falling ” for ages xD
wha happened in RL though is the arch-terrorist morsi biting the big one chained in the egyptian dungeons in the same manner hundreds of ikhwan rats perished
wanna be caliph erdogun is yet to recover from the shock he sustained when his buddy met his doom
progressive and visionary CC, the pillar of stability and democracy is MENA and at the same time our favorite dictator drew red lines and turkey backed off settling with controlling tripolitania
turkish harware and personnel in al watiya AB was also bombed by unknown entities ( UAE airforce , known but not disclosed ) while minister akar was in a visit there sending a clear message of what would follow if GNA rats attacked sirte or jufra
You stopped short… of nothing. If you could take Sirte, you would take it. Turkish rahat.
Yeah, but a less costly way such as an election is better. It’s easier to win at the ballots than on the battlefield. No need for anyone to die if we can let the people decide who wins or loses through an election.
Why are the Russians, UAE, Sisi, and Haftar so averse to elections?
Turkey’s aim was to capture Syria till Damascus, but you got 30 km on the border and a day by day shrinking Idlib.
Turkey’s aim was to capture Libya, but they are stuck with GNA’s 10% of territory, angry strategic enemies (Egypt and France).
Turkey’s aim was to drill and extract oil from Mediterana but it seems you are not allowed to do that.
Turkey’s future is bleak and is coming to a definitive end.
keep dreaming sugar..ı really dont understand how can we capture syria till damascus?who will allow us?do you seriously think israel want to share borders with us?about libya just look at the map huge country.. we captured tripoli as aimed bonus was sirte..sirte not happened but who knows future?we are still applying drills and issuing navtex almost everyday…your arguments at child-level and you have limited info about geography and military…read multiple sources with different languages..we had almost hundreds of construction machines left there at nato intervention and uncompleted construction contacts at tripoli and we started again..
You financed ISIS, smart turkey. You, Israel, US and Saudistan. And time for payment is coming.
send me receipt after payment…
LNA has more resources underground but their control of the resources is pretty shaky. There is mounting domestic opposition to the LNA even in areas they control.
Muslims will have their lands back from hypocrites, InshaAllah.
What we need is a free-and-fair election in Libya under the supervision of the UN.
” under the supervision of the UN. ”
That’s the last thing you want.
UN supervision is what we want cos it’ll silence the enemies of Libya such as the U.S and Russia. Both Pakistan, Turkey and Qatar will be deeply involved in the process and that means they won’t allow Libya to be cheated. The UN is not in full US or Russian control. Provided any settlements lead to a nationwide election, I’m optimistic we’ll emerge the winners.
sine LNA controls most of the oil this will be remedied—GNA is already retreating; turkey imperialism failing

We’ll see about that. Time shall tell
LNA maybe not happy with the Benghazi govt and wants it reformed ?
This could be done by holding back oil production in the interior.
Politics. Hmm
Its been 6 years, no international cooperation, deteriorating infrastructure. Both LNA and GNA are dependent on foreign oil giants for technology. Illegal oil is cheaper than legit oil, and oil prices are low anyways, so cost and sales price getting closer makes the budget tight.
Not likely. The LNA can’t afford any turmoil in their stronghold right now. It’s something beyond their power. We see plenty of demonstrators burning posters of Khalif Haftar. They aren’t likely to stop until the warlord is chased out of Western Libya. They’ll likely keep demonstrating against the System Haftar helped established. Especially because the UAE and Egypt will seek to replace Haftar with another figure to quell demonstrations.
UAE, KSA and egypt will never leave libya xD
They will not leave Libya willingly, but the got no choice in the long run. This is far from over but it won’t settle in their favour. These evil rulers will soon leave even the countries they rule.
Soros in action
And now the turds will have to suck they own dick, pack everything up and GO HOME!!!!…so long suckers!
They are going nowhere man. They have won hearts and minds in Libya. Once the country unites and there is elections, you’ll know just how popular Erdogan is in the Muslim world.
dream on, erdogang is history and he actually put his country in great trouble and expenses, he shall end up like menderes
he is liked a lot by the pakis and the qatari royalty though
Well those Libyan retards helped Nato turn the Country into a Mad Max theme park,so live with it.
No, they’ll get over it when the defeat the dictators. Turkey is pretty set to help Libya get on its feet.
Turkey’s “help” is to rob Libya. Tripoli illegal regime gave 8 billion dollars to Ankara to cover trade balance, which became really bad in last half year. Currency reserves of Turkey declined from 140 to 45 billion for half year – the cost of Erdogan’s ventures. September is the month when Turkey should cover payments for $60 billion. Last reserve is gold, near 580 tons, ~35 billion in dollars.
That expenditure is strategic. Among the 25 top emerging economies of the world, Turkey is expanding at about 7 times the average, ahead of all others. And Turkey also spend its reserves faster than others. It’s a new economic policy intended to expand Turkey’s economy in ways similar to what China did. That’s the way I understand the economic landscape of Turkey based on my research.
LOL!!! put the crack pipe down Jihadi.
Wonderful news. If the Libyan crisis finally leads to an election, it’ll highly lead to an Islamist victory from top to bottom. This is a wave of Islamic awakening. Muslims are tired of dictators installed by the West and Russia. We just want our lands back, ruled by a government that leans more towards Shariah than western-style governance. Anyone who thinks an Islamic Democracy isn’t a successful model should look at Turkey. The GCC are scared shitless of Muslims in their countries understanding the success of Islamic democracy and demanding the same.
May the Libyan problem settle in a nationwide free and fair nationwide elections. Haftar and his buddies are certain to loss at the ballot.
LOL behold this MB mouthpiece, the saudis and emirati know well how to deal with his kind
it would be fun to test the ” islamic democracy ” in qatar to start with LMAO
They don’t need it in Qatar as the people love their Islamist leaders. But even with democracy in Qatar, Islam will rule. Islam is our way of life and no amount of propaganda, disinformation, wars, or chaos can take it from us. We can be weakened for some time, but we’ll recover after every weakness. Looking at our situation 5 decades ago, I’ll say with confidence that the Muslim world has become stronger with greater unity among Muslim citizens of the world. It’s only our governments that are not united, but they’ll soon fall in line due to domestic pressure from the awakened Muslim citizens.
Throughout the 19th century, we have been at our weakest. The West dominated the economic, military, political, and intellectual domains. No one could challenge them. But today their power is receding. Countries like Turkey and Pakistan are no longer the military pushovers they were in the 50s to early 2000s. Technology gap is rapidly closing, with Turkey producing effective combat systems that we once had to buy. From missiles to drones, military vehicles, battle ships and soon fighter planes, we’re catching up fast. Pakis got the nuclear tech about 25 years or so after the west.
Dictators and monarchies in the Muslim world being increasingly threatened and challenged. Some have fallen, others still standing but shaking. ALL will fall as this awakening matures.
So bad-wishers, there’s bad news for you
Jew maggots every one of em, praise be to Allah (swt) I hope Assad rescinds his public space given to Haftar in Damascus then I would continue contributing to SouthFront.
Anyhow I have a high priority message, – there is a new Salafist Movement calling itself Salafia Lightning and they have asked me on a secret telepathic channel to speak on behalf of Brother Baghdadi their leader, they claim he is not deceased as I suspected since he has not been publically listed in Heaven also SL contend Brother Baghdadi neither has gone into occultation.
I replied to their request that I would think about it, all praise is reserved for Allah (swt).
