Beijing has ordered North Koream firms to stop operations in China, AFP reported citing an unnamed Chinese official.
Two weeks ago the UN Security Council imposed a new round of sanctions on North Korea and the Chinese Commerce Ministry claimed that North Korean firms and joint ventures in China would be closed within 120 days.
The sanctions that halted the country’s textile exports and capped fuel supplies came after North Korea’s sixth nuclear test in early September.
