Sergey Morozov, an employee of the Russian State Duma, was killed by artillery fire near the Syrian city of Palmyra in the beginning of March, the Reuters news agency reported. The 38-year-old official was an assistant of Mikhail Degtyarev, a deputy of the State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR).

According to the news agency, Morozov was wounded during a battle, and doctors did not help him in time. The information was confirmed by Degtyarev himself. The deputy told the RIA Novosti news agency that Morozov was his friend, he was a member of the LDPR during many years and was an assistant on a voluntary basis. Several years ago, he moved to the Kuban (Southern Russia), he also “went in Donbass as a volunteer, fought on the side of the militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).” After that, he decided to go to Syria, but he “exactly was not a military.”

“He did not tolerate lies, always defended weak people, he had sharpened sense of justice,” Degtyarev stressed.
