On July 30, Syrian security forces seized another arms shipment that was heading to the Greater Idlib region controlled by terrorist groups.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the arms shipment was on its way from Homs to the northern countryside of Idlib. Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is known to control the northern Idlib.
The shipment included dozens of assault rifles, mortar shells, heavy machine guns as well as loads of ammunition of different calibers.

This was the third arms shipment to be intercepted by Syrian security forces on Homs-Idlib route this month. The first arms shipment was seized on July 5. On July 22, the second shipment was seized.
The source of these weapons was not revealed by security forces. However, it could be situated in the southern region. Rebels there received loads of weapons from the U.S. and its regional allies in the early years of the war. Not all the weapons were handed over under the 2018 reconciliation deal.
Syria is now a hub for arms trafficking in the Middle East. Designated terrorist groups like HTS and ISIS are benefiting from this lucrative market.

This arms smuggling from hidden terrorist arms depots within liberated parts of Syria is surely the main reason that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham fight to keep control of the border crossings in ‘Idlibistan’.
It can only come into Syria one way, across the Turkish border, hang on, did they say it came from Homs, that’s a bit different, actually it’s very different to what we’re used to, so what does it mean then.
Could it mean with all the recent antagonism between HTS and Turkey lately, that HTS now unable to access weapons directly from Turkey or even smuggle them across the Turkish border, maybe.
But I’d also like to know who tried to smuggle in the weapons, and where did they come from, that’s a question that definitely needs an answer, if the weapons were going to HTS they definitely didn’t come from Isis, so who sent them.
This doesn’t make sense! Why would terrorists try to smuggle weapons through the territory of the SAA if they are proxies of Turkey and why would they not bring them over the border between Turkey and Syria? Surely they can get all they want from the Turks?
Why the fuck are those border crossing not bombed and anything coming over them?,doesn’t make sense,this has been going on since day one,also all those crossings should have been mined,there should be no such thing as a border crossing from turkey,in any war you hit the logistic lines of the enemy,an army can’t exist without supplies and it takes many to support them.
There was plenty of arms dealers in Syria that sold to all factions until those groups ran out of money. The dealers got stuck with stock nobody could afford so they hid it to hopefully sell later. My guess is the dealers are getting paid up front for the arms then tip off the SAA when those are shipped with hopes that the Islamic fools will place another order.
