It seems that the Algerian military is now operating Chinese-made unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs). According to reprots, the Algerian military has bought CH-3 fixed wing UCAVs and larger CH-3 UCAVs of the CASC Rainbow series.

Since China doesn’t disclose all of its international customers, it’s hard to know the full extent of its sales, but according to exsisting data Algeria, Nigeria, Jordan, Zambia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Myanmar are among the customers of Chinese UCAVs and UAVs.

The CH-4 is the largest fixed wing UCAV of the CASC Rainbow series. It looks identical to the US-made General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper. The CH-4B, which had been reportedly obtained by Algeria, is a mixed attack and reconnaissance system with provisions for 6 weapons and a payload of 250-345 kg. It’s capable of firing missiles from the altitude of 5,000 meters.
