On February 22, leader of one of the Turkish-backed factions in the National Army was killed by blowing up an IED planted in his car in Azaz city in northern Aleppo countryside.
A local source mentioned that the IED targeted a leader of the al-Jabha al-Shamieh faction known as Abu-Husain Isharah in front of his house in al-Asyanieya neighborhood in Azaz center, killing him immediately.
The source added that the explosion came in time when the militants of the faction discovered another IED planted in a car belonging to the faction, but they were unable to defuse it. It is probable that the attacks, which targeted the faction, may be planned for by other factions in the National Army militia in the light of the ongoing rivalry among Ankara-backed factions.
On February 4th, Bir Maghar village located near Jarabulus in the northeast of Aleppo witnessed another car bomb explosion that targeted a vehicle belonging to the National Army factions killing the leader of the operation room of North Brigade, Mohammad al-Mustafa, as well as an administrative militant from the same faction who was in the same car with Mustafa.
A member of the so-called Public Relations in the Turkish-backed faction of the Third Legion was killed days ago in anther IED attack in Al-Bab town in the northeast of Aleppo countryside.
Ankara’s factions accuse SDF militants of being responsible for these explosions in areas under their control. However, the SDF rebuts these accusations while well-informed sources speak of the disputes among the Turkish-backed militants as being the main reasons leading to such attacks.
It looks like Turks are going to have a hard time in the next few weeks
