After Series Of Massacres, Syrian Government Forces Set Fire To Alawite Towns (Videos)

Syrian government forces set up a series of fires in the countryside of Latakia on the coast, burning forests, farmlands and properties, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on March 14.

The coast is the heartland of Syria’s largest minority group, the Alawites. Over the past week, SOHR reported the death of at least 1,476 civilians, mostly Alawites, on the coast in a brutal government crackdown meant to put down a rebellion by former soldiers and officers from the sect.

The fires started by personnel from the Syrian Ministry of Defense were centered in the area of al-Qardaha, according to the London-based monitoring group, which warned that these fires “threaten the lives of civilians who fled their homes to forested areas to escape the systematic killings.”

Former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, who was overthrown last December by an Islamist coalition that’s now leading the government, is himself an Alawite from al-Qardaha.

Videos posted to social networks showed government fighters laughing after setting up the fires, which confirms SOHR’s report.

It’s worth noting that similar fires were reported in other parts of Latakia, as well as in the nearby governorate of Tartus over the last few days.

Since the start of the crackdown on March 6, the monitoring group documented some 50 massacres that mainly targeted Alawite civilians in Lattakia, Tartus, Hama and Homs.

The real death toll is expected to be much higher than the one reported by the group as many people are still missing, amid reports of government forces and loyalists burning bodies, burying them in unmarked mass graves, or even dumping them in the sea.

The Syrian interim government attempted to dodge responsibility by announcing that all operations on the coast were over, then forming an investigation committee. Nevertheless, the killings continue.

The massacres have so far displaced at least 10,000 Alawites to the governorate of Baalbek-Hermel in eastern Lebanon with more that 8,000 others taking shelter at Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base near the city of Jableh in Latakia.

In a statement drafted by both Russia and the United States, the United Nations Security Council on March 14 condemned the massacres on the Syrian coast and urged the country’s government to respect all people regardless of religion or ethnicity.

Despite facing international pressure over the killings on the coast, the Syrian government is yet to take any real steps to ease tensions or engage in any meaningful way with the Alawites. Meanwhile, the minority group seems to have lost all trust in the government, with many of its leaders demanding international protection.

it was simply stupid how the alwite army gave up without a fight, on some very real level they deserve this.

The Crunge

idk if they deserve it. but i’m 100 percent behind you. they were very very dumb to surrender.

Jagoda

they believed that multi-cultism was okay. it will be the same in western europe, when the qatari gangs will destroy the entire continent, all the way to poland and croatia. the poles and croats stopped the turks the first time, and we will stop them the second time too. all germans who have not yet been born will pay for the qatari bribe. our people, unlike the alawite multiculturalists and the european multiculturalists, know that the border must be protected with guns and dogs.

Dragana

multiculture with wahhabis is like rats letting cats into their holes. and that qatar’s crazy wahhabis will destroy not only europe but also themselves.

فريدوم

by 2050, half of europe will be muslims.

Shlomo's little weenie

by 2050, most of europe may be still radio-active ash

Piipii

sweden was a cradle of multiculturalism in the 1980s. now a bomb explodes there every single day, and the king and prime minister have declared the open door policy a failure.

The Crunge

whoever put a thumbs down to your statement should tell me why the alawites were smart to surrender. i’d love to hear that point of view.

NewTypeESP!

probably because they had no support. you know can’t go on with a rebellion if you don’t have enough ammo.

anon

what you say is true but syria was wrecked by 14 years of genocidal sanctions. the economy fell by 85%. plus the destruction caused by 14 years of terrorist destruction. the syrian army fought quire well for most of that time. the quisling turds stole all syria’s oil and grain. sometimes there is a limit to how much people can endure. assad seems to have been suckered into a “reconciliation” with the west.r

The Crunge

are they gonna get their oil back from the people they surrendered to?

anon

nope. the turds will carry on stealing that and selling it to shlomo. till erdogan genocides the turds. then erdogan will steal it and sell it to shlomo. till the jewsa overthrows erdogan like it tried to before.

Dumb, Dumber, Russiya!

no it’s stupid that they rebelled in the first place, the alwites made the same mistake as hamas did, now they are being slaughtered like cattle!

The Crunge

they had more guns before they surrendered.

Dragana

then crazy people believe people like putler and assad. the same with hezbollah when they went to defend hamas, even though they know that hamas wants them dead and not alive. do the crazy houthis really think that the wahhabi palestinian hamas would defend them? it’s more likely that they would end up like those drugged and drunk israelis and hippies from the peace parties like emma and bashar ass

anon

the old zio divide and rule play book.

The Crunge

i think she was talking about the saa surrendering to hts. even though they outnumbered them 10 to 1. probably had better equipment as well.

did they think their enemies were gonna treat them nicely after surrendering?

Dragana

just like the crazy croats who feared the serbs more than death. they only won their croatia because they feared the serbs more than their own death. in the style of the cordoba dogs, they fought to the death, badly wounded, because they feared death less than the enemy. it was more important to them to kill their enemies than to survive. whoever exchanges freedom for security loses both.

Dragana

they had two chances before the trap closed. the first was to transfer idlib to turkey, the second to create their own state. but the hundred thousand times damned arrogant bastards bashar al-assad and putler, in their arrogance, destroyed all the alawites and, of course, the christians. and the fact that they themselves ended up exchanging rifles for pieces of paper…? horror and stupid. now even the wahhabis are calling them traitors.

anon

it’s not russia or assad murdering people, it’s shlomo’s proxy head choppers. timber sycamore. oded yinon.

anon

maybe they should have just kept quiet as shlomo’s pet head choppers were slitting their throats.

Jagoda

why didn’t iran and russia create an alawite state for these unfortunate and stupid people, when we in yugoslavia knew we wouldn’t be safe without our own countries and strictly protected borders?

Dragana

because they too are being bribed by qatar criminals. russian and chinese evil even cooperates with the taliban, who are no more humane and clever than our jolani criminals. germany is tied to qatari money. only israel does not need to take qatari money because it has more than enough of its own. israel has so much money that if it wanted to, it could save the alawites. i’ll see what the gop does with the taliban colleagues russia and china.

The Crunge

maybe putin was bribed by abramovich or some other jewish russian billionaire. there is quite a few of them.

i heard these jewish oligarchs kept their money but lost their political power. how they have all that cash and no political power is beyond me.

Shlomo's little weenie

the big majority of this crowd were amongst the elite of the soviet union, referred to as their ‘ nomenklatura’. it’s been ‘running’ russia since the collapse. their success at pillaging soviet infrastructure wasn’t hard, they were running it. they’ve got political clout alright, but no russian media will allude to it. the slavic plebs don’t have to know that.

anon

yugoslavia was destroyed to serve the interests of the jewsa and the globalists, and to create puppet states like kosovo, similar to what the jews are now trying to carve out of syria.

Dragana

this is what happens to you if you give your weapon to the enemy. what’s worse is that this crazy violent gang even calls itself the government. this isn’t a government, this is a jihadist gang controlling no man’s land. this is the closest thing to the taliban government in afghanistan. and of course to hitler’s regime, and that’s why i hope the israelis will intervene.

The Crunge

hoping israel intervenes and helps them is like hoping freddy krueger will intervene and help a troubled teenagers life.

freddy helped the air heads. he put them out of their brain dead misery.

kotromanic

they ran against a wall and were dead afterwards just like hamas.

Conan M

more like the fifth column in iran that owns iran made a deal with their moloch kin in tel aviv!

anon

iran lost a lot of men and a great deal of money defending syria for 10 years.

Conan M

you left out the russians who also fought and died defending it for those 10 years without the support of it’s briics neighbors which would have changed the latitude of everything had they come to russia’s and irans defense. this of course doesn’t explain the “hyprsonic destruction” of iron dome that just “stopped”!… or the fact that you fail to mention what is happening in western economies that spent much larger amounts of money and are losing their shirt(s) at the market banquet table!

Dragana

they are no more, because they defended hamas, they were left without everything, from lebanon to syria. it’s over, the only chance for the survival of the alawite sect, as well as catholics and other minorities, is if israel creates a new state. otherwise, the wahhabis will come for the israelis one day. just not now, because they know they would lose badly. but sometime in the future they may destroy israel.

anon

more likely a war of all against all. the isis half wits and useful idiots will not be able to create anything remotely resembling a functioning state. erdogan will be drawn in militarily to protect them.

anon

they are still around. they haven’t gone away.

kotromanic

dont forget europe who have all the place in the world for refugees as long as they are sunni muslims.

anon

hafez faced a similar foreign orchestrated uprising from the head choppers at hama in 1982. he put it down with great brutality, and saved syria from what has just happened.

Cavery

thanks for noting. never heard of it before. he used alawite troops to do the killing apparently. seems like an endless cycle of tit for tat.

anon

no, the syrian forces were mainly sunni. these artificial divisions were created from the outside to serve foreign interests. there was a foreign sponsored uprising of isis type characters there. hafez suppressed it ruthlessly. there are western claims he killed 10-20 k in putting it down, but how much of this is western smear propaganda is open to question. either way he saved syria. he would have done the same in 2011.

Dragana

two monsters assad and putler took qatari money like germany, china and russia. now the islamic inquisition is wreaking havoc across the fallen state. i hope that the corrupt putler and assad will pay for their evil in this world and that the ukrainians, in alliance with the finns, will unexpectedly take back their stolen land.

anon

more hasbara garbage, when russia collapsed, putin was mayor of leningrad. he had a reputation of being the only honest politician in the country and the only one who did not take bribes. the idea putin could be bought for money by a postage stamp size country like qatar is ludicrous.

anon

blame the ones committing the massacres and their zio and western puppet masters, not the victims.

Baran ats

ok let’s say it’s eu and erdoğan(nothing wrong with trump except minority of govern); how alawite would retaliate (can’t even defend itself) iran ignored massacre, fuck iran.
russia isn’t middle eastern, so nothing to do with russians, can’t blame them.
you got massacred and it’s ignored…
arabs best to be kept in stone age ? so after all it’s jewish/israeli mentality makes sense???

idlib should have been liberated or nuked in 2020. this is the consequence of not doing this job on time.

Cromwell

you hit the nail on the head, all those terrorist freaks were allowed to leave aleppo for idlib on buses instead of being exterminated and the saa offensive was stopped, now this horror is the result.

FOW

russia insisted on it.

why did the isis, al-qaeda terrorists end up in idlib? that was a u.s. and turkey idea supported, of course, by the izzies.

it is sickness that commenters here think innocent people need to die . they will blame any one but the greater israel project kabal .

this is when being kind to your enemy fails.
idlib should have been taken years ago
they had the jihadists surrounded and let them leave to idlib into their handlers comfort.should have destroyed them…

فريدوم

you’re right. the russians allowed the opposition to move to idlib. but how could a group of armed men defeat a regular state army equipped with modern weapons? can you give us an explain?

GEA

because they believed stupid lies. why the alawites are traitors if someone from their sect tried to replace jolani with himself? will christians or druze also become traitors if another of their kind decides to replace jolani with himself? many druze are members of the israeli army, what if an israeli army general appears and appoints himself as president of syria? or does a catholic emerge and appoint himself president of syria? personally, i would prefer a druze and a general in idf.

فريدوم

do you think france allows french african citizens to take over power and run the country?

the situation in syria was beautifully calm after the law settling the status of all officers and soldiers of the former syrian regime. the situation changed after the treacherous attacks by these alawite officers and soldiers on the syrian coast. for every action, there is a reaction.
