After Recognizing Golan Heights As Israel, U.S. Calls On Syrian Army To Withdraw From Separation Line

On March 27, the U.S. said that Russia should pressure the Damascus government to withdraw its armed forces from the separation line with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

“The United States and this Council cannot accept Syria’s efforts to establish its presence in the area of separation as a new norm … Therefore, the United States calls on the Russian Federation to use its influence with the Assad regime to compel the Syrian forces to uphold their commitment to the disengagement of forces agreement and immediately withdraw from the area of separation,” U.S. diplomat Rodney Hunter told a U.N. Security Council meeting on the Golan Heights, according to Sputnik.

This new demand came three days after the U.S. recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. The region was occupied by the Israeli military during the 1967 war.

The separation line between the Israeli-occupied part of the Golan Heights and the Syrian governorate of al-Quneitra was established under the 1974 Israel-Syria Disengagement Agreement. A 1,000-strong U.N. Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) was dispatched to monitor the line.

During the U.N. Security Council meeting, Hunter insisted that the UNDOF should remain in place despite the U.S. decision to recognize Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.

“This announcement does not affect the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, nor do we believe it undermines UNDOF’s mandate in any way … UNDOF continues to have a vital role to play in preserving stability between Israel and Syria, most importantly by ensuring that the area of separation is a buffer zone free from any military presence or activities other than those of UNDOF,” Hunter said, according to France 24.

Hunter’s remarks are an example of a typical U.S. hypocrisy. Washington rejects the U.N. resolution 497 which  says that the Golan Heights are an occupied Syrian region and opposes to Russia-led de-escalation efforts in Syria, but jumps to support any agreement that could benefit Israel.

the only party that should separate itself from the middle east is the corrupt and criminally insane junta in washington dc, a junta consisting of fatso, secretary of state, bedbugcrazy bolton, pedo pence and the head idiot – donny the dunce.

and then the world can spend two weeks obliterating the squatters from the map and return the land they stole to the palestinians. should be done in a jiffy!

neil barron

Judging from the shitte spewing from your hand you would be the last that I would let anywhere near any position of political relevancy.

verner

why don’t you just feck off to breitbart and leave the highbrows of this site alone – no hillbilly rednecks needed here.

roger temple

The ‘shitte’, as you call it, spewing from Verner’s hand is pretty good stuff. Fully agree. Verner for top position of political relevancy. Barron to clean out the toilets for the imprisoned washington junta.

Paul Sharpe

Our turn then to break out the BBQ and deck chairs, cracking a cold beer while that viper’s nest burns.

Is there no end to the blatant hypocrisy and downright disregard on the part of America of all accepted norms of International Law & concepts of State Sovereignty that have been embedded in the International Order since WW I.
One of these fine days, an “Ally” of the US will face invasion by and or Territorial land-grabbing by an adjoining State and the US will scream and shout and stamp its foot calling on the International Community to condemn what has happened and ordering both UN and its European (and elsewhere) Allies to come to the aid of the American “Ally” but …….. US may find it’s Allies melting away with the snow and disappearing into the night while telling Washington “No Can Do now Fugg Off”.
Think (for example) large parts of Kosovo!!

Don’t you watch RT from time to time? I would recommend it. Like half an hour ago they were saying that “trump is divorcing the allies”. Cool hey?!

Gregory Casey

I’m glad both you and RT agree with me.

So, in this situation we needed Assad´s S-300 purchase long overdue again again. A strategic blunder of geo-political dimensions of Kremlin in my opinion. But what do I know, probably nothing.

Gregory Casey

You’re not often correct Tommy but in this instance you are 100% accurate in your depiction of another strategic blunder by the Kremlin.

Neil

You know more than you let on.
Yes, Syria could hit the runways these Israeli bastard planes take off from. That would be reasonable.

The barbarism, the hypocrisy, and the cynicism in full brightness.

The Shia Crescent is very lucky because without any effort any political event falls in their favor.

But with every blessing the Shia Crescent becomes more confident and more determined to wipe out their historical sectarian rivals, forever egging on the sectarian conflict.

At the same time there are secularist vs fundamentalist forces which remains invisible to rightists libtards secularists and the Axis itself which views this fundamentalist nature as being salafist wahabist terrorist.

But from a Fundamentalist perspective (Shia or Sunni), the Dabiq/Amaq Prophesy is still relevant, and secularist axis members will continue to rub their hands (like jews) at a victory against fundamentalism.

While at the same time the s300s dont work, Putin is denying collaboration with jews etc.

Meaning that Secularists think they can defeat jews and their own fundamentals which is an oxymoron. The secularists are slated to become the new jews, and the Shia Crescent will again split along these lines.

Noone talks about the Sunni Crescent though, like Muslim Brotherhood Ikhwan and even Turkey, but thats what you get when you turn a blind eye to the fundamentals.

I am stunned! Starting a new world war is a matter of time. I hoped it never come but will happen during our lifetime.

You can call me Al

Why ?. Everyday the people rise and every week governments awaken to the true nature of the Zio-Yanks, distancing themselves slowly but surely, away from them.

Andreas Mikkelsen

Yes. They are loosing grip.Economically and military and morally.

Italy did just join the belt and road initiative, for eurasian development. Others will sure follow. Even France and Germany. Because it is win win, instead of shooting own foot because zio-yanks says so. Then Washington is out.

No one wants the “permanent conflict” zionist-american regime. We want peace and development and cooperation.

alejandro casalegno

And the SAA must rise a monument toTrump and Netanyahu in Damascus …….

Joe

Again US kids are talking like kids as though US is law in Syria.

One thing though coward Assad is silent
So US and Israel says silence is consent

1691

It is proven that us and israhell have got a distorted perception of reality.

Neil Hallett

Assad a coward? Why .. because he and his people defeated everything NATO could throw at him, stood up to the bullies and told them to fuck off to their faces. Hardly cowardly.

“The United States and this Council cannot accept Syria’s efforts to establish its presence in the area of separation as a new norm”

This guy doesn’t speak for the UNSC or the international community when the whole world is against the Jewmerica and Israel every year on this issue.

“For the first time, the United States voted Friday against an annual UN resolution condemning Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights, dropping its practice of abstaining in the vote.

The non-binding resolution was adopted in a General Assembly committee by a vote of 151 to 2, with the United States and Israel the only two countries opposing the measure. Fourteen countries abstained.”

If the plan had succeeded Syria would now be another Libya …. destroyed, lawless, a haven for NATO Jihadi mercenaries and ….here’s the rub … israel would have formally occupied the Golan “to protect ourselves”. Genie Oil would be pumping at a rate … Cheney, Rothschild, Murdoch, Wolsey, et al toasting another great success. Fortunately for all of us Syria has a people and a president with integrity and guts. As for the NATO oligarchs ….scum of the Earth

Dr. Ronald Cutburth

US illegal and Israel hegemony in violation of international law.

Genie Energy! Fuck these bastards!

You hear the word Israel and their occupation of the Golan Height’s and you think ‘ Genocidal, Thieving, Ethnic Cleansing Scum’. You witness the inaction of the ‘Right wing West’ and you think what a bunch of heartless Bastards. You think back about the series of ‘Murdering Shitbags’ that have controlled Palestine since 1948. The likes of Golda Meyar who stated that if the so called Israel were to be forcefully taken they would take the region and the whole world down with them. This would be with the nuclear arsenal that the USA and the UK had provided them with. They and their backers are to be likened to a piece of crap hanging off the arse of humanity. If only there was a ‘Zap Button’ to wipe them all out.
