Dont really understand why the U.S. military thinks they will succeed where the Soviet military failed.
They are only pushing out the inevitable.

Leif Oskar Zetterstrøm

The Russians failed when the CIA delivered Stinger rockets to the Taliban so the Taliban could shoot down Russian armored helicopters. The United States is losing because Russia is providing aid to the Taliban. China has come on the scene and secured contracts for mining and reconstruction of the country.

HB_Norica

You’re giving a little too much credit to the Russians and Americans. Truth is no imperial western power has been able to rule Afghanistan peacefully whether it be Russian, British or US.

The Mongols did manage to conquer and rule the Afghans for a bit. It wasn’t a peaceful rule however …. they ruled by killing 20 million Afghans between 1219 and 1385 due to revolts and insurrections against them. I can’t find information on whether they controlled the Pashtun tribes in the mountains though or what influence they had on 20 million punitive deaths … they’re the guys you don’t want to fuck with.

There is belt of totally wild people from the Caucasus, Afghanistan through to Yemen that most people should tread carefully. Afghans are warlike tribals and don’t cotton to any invaders. It is called not Graveyard of Empires for nothing.

John Wallace

You will find it is the rich Saudis providing support to the Taliban so the government can deny complicity although they support it.

Frank

Taliban are a Pakistani creation and most are Pakistani soldiers in civvies. Some money does come from Wahhabi Persian Gulf states, but they are now self-sustaining as they have access to US funds and weapons. Almost half of US supplies are pilfered enroute from Karachi port in Pakistan before they even reach the Torkham Afghan border.

Jihadi Colin

This is a canard, almost wholly Indian propaganda.

The Taliban began after the civil war between Mujahideen between 1991-94 in Kabul and the collapse of Afghanistan into warlord fiefdoms. Residents of Spin Boldak approached a retired Mujahid turned preacher, Mullah Omar, and asked him to lead a group of volunteers against a local warlord who had blocked the highway. With a few volunteers and donated arms and vehicles Omar defeated the warlord with astonishing ease and opened the highway. This caused a flood of more volunteers, and they moved on to another infamous child sex slaver warlord, whom they hanged from the barrel of his own tank. It was then and only then that Omar drew widespread attention and support. And only then did the Pakistanis recruit and send in Afghan refugees from the camps to fight.

The Afghans don’t like any foreigners telling them what to do. The Pakistanis are among said foreigners. It is because the Taliban are literally the only remaining nationalist force in Afghanistan, unbeholden to anybody, that they have support, unlike either the puppet child sex slaver warlord Quisling regime or the headchoppers of ISIS.

Good one!

Jihadi Colin

The Saudis aren’t supporting the Taliban because the Taliban aren’t Wahhabi. They’re Deobandis, who are of a totally different school of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence (Hanafi against Hanbali). If anything rich Saudis would fund the Afghan ISIS.

Fog of War

Don’t be fooled, the US provides the Taliban air support against ISIS and probably has already made a deal with them, at the cost of the current Afghani ” government ” . Smoke and mirrors.

Frank

There is no evidence of Russia providing anything, however most of the captured weapons and uniforms are courtesy of the the bankrupt US taxpayers.US is bleeding in Afghanistan and has no exit strategy.

Great Khan

A box full of opium transported to the laboratory………………………….LOL.

Stinger missiles achieved very little except make the Soviets fly higher. The Soviet 40th Army withdrew because of domestic circumstances, not because of any other reason. They did not loses single battle in the entire Soviet presence in Afghanistan.

viktor ziv

Soviets won the the battles when spetsnaz was deployed and shifted tactics to VDV and Vympel. Chernobyl pushed Soviet leadership to reconsider further engagement in Afghan. Soviets pulled from Afghan in 1989., four years after, mujahedin took over control of Kabul. Year after taliban emerged. In the movie “9. Pota” aka 9th Company soviet officer said that noone has ever won the war in Afghan. So, the same goes for US Army too.

Jihadi Colin

He said that “Nobody has ever defeated Afghanistan”.

This is not true. The Afghans can be rather easily defeated by any competent military force and have been regularly defeated throughout history. What they can’t be is *conquered*, which is far more significant. You can’t make a profit by invading people who never stop resisting your invasion, never give up, never stop forcing you to spend more defending yourselves than you gain from looting the country.

Frank

US is run by corrupt military industrial complex that views endless wars as a key to their survival. The average American is an ignorant flag waving dolt.

Simplekindof Man

And that there is exactly where the Turkeys get inspiration.
Just saying.

Great Khan

They already succeeded. Only jerks dont understand that. From Taleban 5000 ha opium crops in year 2000, to US/Nato 256000 ha opium crops in 2015. So what is it you dont understand?

Lone Ranger

Oy gevalt…

Jihadi Colin

Let’s be clear about this: like them or hate them, the Taliban are the only force that can control, unite, and stabilise Afghanistan. And they are wholly indigenous and not foreign puppets beholden to anybody, unlike the hypercorrupt child sex slaver puppet warlord regime of Quislings in Kabul. The Afghan people know this too, and that’s why the Taliban could survive even in the 2002-5 period when the invaders seemed to be triumphant. As this* article by a veteran of the invasion says:

“…most of the people with whom I dealt considered that under the Taliban the circumstances in which it would be possible to live by (the Pashtun) honour code are achievable, and that they are not achievable under any foreign-sponsored regime. They are not particularly for example interested that what they see as a miniscule minority of women in Kabul or the other cities may no longer go to university. They are very interested in their daughter getting through adolescence without being raped by some western-supported warlord’s levies.”

[*Source: https://shadowproof.com/2009/02/19/when-you%E2%80%99re-wounded-and-left-on-afghanistan%E2%80%99s-plains/ ]

This is exactly why the Taliban survived and will win. The current “withdrawal negotiations” between the Amerikastani invaders and the Taliban are just surrender talks. Everyone knows this. Once the Amerikastanis are gone the Taliban will roll on to Kabul. They virtually surround the city anyway.

HitlerWasRight

just another stupid rat muslim country like turkey :D so sad hahaha

Even the Swastika is an ancient Caucasian symbol originating in present day Armenia and later adopted by Hindus.

Frank

Don’t tell that to the Chinese.

Jihadi Colin

Hitler’s ancestors were originally black Africans from Ethiopia just like everyone else’s.

Frank

Hitler was a Jew in origins as were many Nazis like Goebbels.

Abby Martin was very good on RT Boom Bust until a crazed stalker put an end too her desire to be there. However she is doing a much better job with The Empire Files. Pity so few are aware of it.

Tommy Jensen

She is a wonderful girl.
