Activists and journalists in Idlib have recently launched a campaign via social media, under the title “Idlib is green”, declaring their rejection of the Jabhat Al-Nusra control of the province.

The activists attached their campaign to the #023, which represents Idlib’s code for terrestrial communications, calling to reject the spread of extremist groups, foremost of which is Jabhat al-Nusra, and to oppose its rule and practices in their governorate.

The campaign organizers said that its idea came after an incident that occurred on June 20, when a group of Uzbek jihadists affiliated with Al-Nusra stormed the Idlib Museum, and destroyed the antiquities as idols, according to their expression. The incident sparked widespread popular resentment among the city’s residents, who saw it as an attempt to obliterate Idlib’s identity and its civilized history.

The participants are promoting their campaign in a white image, saying that it is a symbol of confronting the darkness that extremist groups have brought to the region, which tried to portray Idlib as a hotbed of extremism.

During the campaign, activists also called for the release of detainees in the prisons of jihadist groups, especially of the Al-Nusra Front, expressing their rejection of the recent policies of repression and the arrest of media journalists and activists.

The campaign participants called on all the people and residents of Idlib to participate and support the campaign, to show the extent of the popular rejection of the rule of Al-Nusra despite its intimidating practices against civilians, and to seek to end its presence in Idlib.

It is noteworthy that Jabhat al-Nusra and its allied factions have practiced, and are still practicing, all forms of violations against civilians in Idlib, including killing, torture and arrests, imposing royalties on civilians, harassing activists and media professionals, and arresting anyone who objects to its practices, in an attempt to impose its extremist ideology on the locals.

Nah, just keep calm and enjoy the neo-zio-NATOman emirate you longed for.

‘…Uzbek jihadists affiliated with Al-Nusra stormed the Idlib Museum, and destroyed the antiquities as idols…’

For a decade NATO and Gulf States have recruited and salaried these terrorists – from far and wide – and they are directly responsible for creating the entire terrorist network now spanning southern Turkey and Syria’s Idlib.
