ABC News has used a fake photo of Donald Trump to promote its first interview with US President.
The ABC News division of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) has used a fake image to promote its first interview with US President Donald Trump.
The image, allegedly showing Trump in the Oval Office, with the caption “No Questions Off Limits,” was earlier published in the New Yorker magazine in September 2016. The photo accompanied an article, entitled ‘President Trump’s First Term’. Its credit reads: “Photo Illustration by Ji Lee; Source: Pete Souza / White House (Office); Tom Williams / CQ Roll Call / AP (Trump).”
The fake photo was showed on Tuesday night and was aimed to promote the first interview with Trump, since he took office, for Wednesday’s nightly news.
Apparently, ABC didn’t realize that it was photoshopped or another outlet’s work.
Reportedly, later, the photo has been replaced. ABC has admitted the mistake of its marketing team and apologized.

Mainstream fake news
An apparent fake image is not a fake news, even if the image is fake. If the interview was fake, then it might be called fake news. News channels often use representational photos of others to “represent” something.
Actually it is. Just like that Egyptian in Egypt who was hiring local people, covering them with fake blood. Then selling the images to places such as CBS news claiming they were scenes from Aleppo.
A Photoshoped picture of you standing over a dead body while holding a knife can also send an innocent person to prison.
“If a photo is worth a thousand words. Then an altered photo is worth 1,000 lies” – Me, I said this. lol
No it isn’t. It never stated that they took the photo or was an actual one of Trump in office. Media sites have occasionally used representational images of ISIS fighters while showing an attack on ISIS even though that photo of ISIS fighters wasn’t from the place of fighting. Does that make it fake news automatically? To be fake news, it has to claim something which is false. The image is just a representation of the President whether it was actually taken in the Oval Office or not. That is the only truth.

Don’t be stupid. Using a photo in a story implies it is a real image. If not, the article shoud advise that the image is non-genuine.
Remember the “concentration camp” photo taken by UK ITN during the Yugoslav wars? It turned out to be an orchestrated FAKE. Penny Marshall – nothing but a dishonest fcking liar.
No you are making up fiction. It neither implies it is real nor says unless the one using it says it is. Besides the “concentration camp” revealed by UK ITN was real. Even the courts, investigations HRW, and ICC ruled it real. Or now are you pro-Serbian propaganda as well?
Media sites have occasionally used representational images of ISIS fighters while showing an attack on ISIS even though that photo of ISIS fighters wasn’t from the place of fighting. Does that make it fake news automatically? To be fake news, it has to claim something which is false. Let me repeat it again so you undertsand: it is just representation and ABC News never made any claim that it took the photo.
The Russians are 180 degrees opposite in spirit historically from America, dude. Get your history straight. The Russians spring from a serf-bondage-slave mentality under a crushing monarchy. Nothing much has changed since Catherine the Great, only the names of the “systems” put into place. Pfffft.
“An apparent fake image is not a fake news, even if the image is fake.” Rubbish…. of course it is.
No you are being ridiculous. Because they never claimed the image was the truth or was actually taken in White House nor that they took it. It is likely a representational photo.
You are below ridiculous, you’re spamming utter rubbish: fake is not fake because they never claimed the image was the truth? Wtf?! Pathetic strawman BS. Keep trolling.
I’m not uttering any rubbish. I said it wasn’t “fake news” because the image is “potentially fake”. The interview is entirely real, that what I have been saying but you aren’t understand it.
ABS stands for Absurd-Bullshit-Standards.
Everything they say is designed to slowly build up to master lies.
Sometimes they even sacrifice telling a little truth, in order to help them market a Big Lie.
