A Turkish soldier was killed and five others wounded in Syria’s Ras al-Ayn after a rocket and mortar attack by members of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) on October 27, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported.
According to the Turkish military, the soldiers were attacked during a reconnaissance patrol. Turkish forces responded to the attack, the defense ministry added.
On the same day, the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces announced that they started the withdrawal of their forces from the border with Turkey under the agreement reached by Ankara and Moscow.
