On Thursday 5th of November the Distinguished Visitors Day was organized in the Samardan polygon. On this occasion a sequence of exercises was presented during which representatives of all structures involved could correctly evaluate the implications of such a scenario and joint action if the procedures are in place and functional. General-Major Petrica-Lucian Foca, the commander of the 2nd Infantry Division Getica, of Galati Municipality was present in the Malina polygon. He also inspected the soldiers from the 284 Cuza Voda tank battalion, who conducted an exercise with field firings (LFX).
The tactical part of the exercise was focused on the training and evaluation of the subunits regarding defensive operations on national territory, according to the collective defence of NATO, the capacity of firing with real ammunition in the field, the cooperation between the company elements and also the transmission of the orders between the commanders and crew.
The activities followed the way that the scouts operate in the field. They had the support of the air force and other land forces.
The quick reaction time and the engagement of multiple forces was the key to success for the simulated situations and incidents. The scenario was imaginary but the actions of the troops in the field gave the evaluators the opportunity to identify the effectiveness of the given orders in real time. Also the exercise gave the opportunity to test the cohesion and synchronization of the group and all the aerial and ground teams that took action.
