On March 5, Turkey re-opened its southeastern border crossing with Syria after an eight-year hiatus.
According to the state-run media, Turkish trucks are now able to cross the Oncupinar border gate in the province of Kilis after showing relevant travel documents to custom officials. Anadolu Agency claimed that 50 trucks had crossed to Syria through the gate in the last few hours after the opening.
Turksih soruces call the border crossing as “Olive Branch”, named after Turkey’s military operation in the Afrin region in 2018.
The decision to re-open the Oncupinar border crossing is a sign that Ankara believes that the border area is safe enough.
Another flood of guns?
Ok SAA time to kick the jihadis out of idlib now.
Come on hurry up finish the bastards ????
Putin doesn’t allow SAA to enter Idlib ( because of his friend-money Erdogan (S400, nuclear power plants, South Stream pipeline ))
What they mean is it’s now safe enough to freely plunder the Syrian side of the border, or do I mean trade with the Syrian side if the border.
The military trucks bring the weapons and soldiers into Syria, but these civilian trucks will probably mostly be taking stuff out of Syria, and not bringing in too much of anything. Food, oil, goods, and plundered antiquities going out across the border, and displaced rebel families coming back across the border on those trucks to relocate their families in Syria, that’s why the crossing has really been reopened.
Very clever of you nice way of thinking clueless person
Are there other reasons for your hero to open the border crossing, humanitarian aid for the Syrians perhaps, or an exit route for refugees wanting to flee Syria and go to Turkey.
The last time Erdogan opened the border here was to allow hundreds of trucks full of plundered oil to cross into Turkey, they came straight from the Syrian oilfields that Isis plundered, and then went straight to Erdogan’s son’s distribution centre, until the Russians, and then later on the US started turning them into candles.
you was driving one of those lorries out of Syria?
No, but I would’ve liked to have been one of the Russian pilots turning them into candles.
And I’m sure they will now return all the stuff they stole.
Ask your friend yaanks and kurdi terrorist about stuff
Save enough to permit terrorists, weapons to enter Syria ?
