The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) discovered several line charges of C4 explosive during a recent search operation in the newly-liberated areas in southern Syria, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on February 27.
Experts said that these charges are of the M58A3 type, which is a part of the US-made M58 Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) system. Each line charge is more than 106meters long. They are usually deployed with the assist of a MK22 Mod 4 rocket. The MICLIC was designed to provide a “close-in” demining capability for the U.S. Army.
The US-led Military Operations Center (MOC) in Jordan supplied several Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups in southern Syria with the MICLIC system few years ago. The groups used the system almost exclusively as an offensive weapon against the SAA’s positions in the southern city of Daraa, mainly in 2017 and 2018.
The SAA’s recent search operations in southern Syria has revealed the true scale of the U.S. support for armed groups there. Despite this support, they failed to hold onto their positions for more than few weeks when the army launched its final attack last year.
Looks like the SAA now has a goodly supply of US Military grade C4 (complete with taggants) with which to return many favors.
Each segment is a nice 5 lb. loaf of C-4. You could see their obvious shape with the hole in the middle in lots of head-chopper IEDs. Every few segments there’s a bonus section of convenient time-delay fuze and detonators in case the entire charge doesn’t blow up as expected (or you’re using segments for a head-chopper VBIED and don’t have any detonators handy). A MICLIC has to be like winning the lottery for a terrorist. I wonder how many of these the Saudis and UAE sent to their head-choppers in Syria and Iraq?
They used MICLICs in the streets of Falluja to set of IEDs and car bombs. That must have caught the attention of anyone in the area.

That’s advanced?
Looks pretty primitive to me.
Well I guess it’s slightly more advanced than forcing prisoners to walk the mine field.
No idea why they describe it as ‘advanced’ – it hasn’t changed its design much since the cold war. Primitive, but effective – actually much more effective than bipedal meat-based detectors. 100 yards at a time of a land mine and IED-free path as big as a two-lane road. Plus, you can fit maybe six of these trailers in a shipping container. That will come in especially handy for humanitarian aid shipments to Guaido’s IMF Freedom Guerrillas.
Even the useless things are call advanced equipment as long as it comes USA NATO or Israel.Best systems from Iran, Russia, China, Venezuela non puppet countries are call still developing or 10 years away from advancing. That is western tactic and information war.If you come from world top class Middle East countries or South America or Africa USA NATO says you are coming from third world countries or Latin America why not Latin USA.
