Two Explosions Rocks Afrin, Day After Clashes Between Turkish-Backed Militants

On June 27, a booby-trapped car exploded in the district of Villat in the southern part of the northern city of Afrin, according to the Syrian pro-opposition news outlet Enab Baladi. Minutes after the car’s explosion, a booby-trapped motorcycle exploded in Kawa al-Hadad roundabout in the center of the city.

According to initial reports, up to eight civilians were killed, while more than 25 others were injured in the two explosions. The Turkish-backed Free Syrian Police (FSB) is yet to release any accurate information about the incidents.

A day earlier, the northern city witnessed heavy clashes between the Al-Mu’tasim Brigade and the al-Shamiya Front, which are both backed by Turkey. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), more than 11 militants were killed and injured in the clashes.

Since it was captured by the Turkish military on March 24, Afrin has been witnessing a state of chaos. During the last two months, several Turkish-backed groups clashed in the Kurdish area, which led to the death of many civilians and militants.

The Turkish military is yet to take any steps to improve the deteriorating security situation in Afrin. Due to this many Kurdish and even pro-opposition activists hold Turkey the responsibility for the chaos there.

The Syria conflict will soon also be an insurgency war by the Syrian tribes, armed by the Damascus government against the Turks, Kurds, U.S., French and British.

There are already clashes in Al-Raqqa, Deir Ezzor, Hasaka, and now Afrin and the Turkish/FSA areas.

Syria, following the footsteps of its gallant army, will rise up, and it will prove fatal and checkmate for the occupiers.

Nah. Any future insurgency will be directed at the government in Damascus if they start playing favorites when it comes to rebuilding and restoring the economy.

Won’t be by Syrian tribes but more outsiders from rest of the world as it is now , glad the SAA cleared 5800km2 in the east estimated ISIS forces are less than 100 or so they fled towards Al Tanf area under US protection again.Around the same time SAA killed 70 in SW Syria, 5th Legion had killed 74 in the desert.
