ISIS claimed responsibility via its news agency Amaq for a series of terrorist attacks, which hit Indonesia on May 13.
At least 13 people were killed and 40 others were injured after suicide bombers attacked the Santa Maria Catholic Church, the Indonesian Christian Church and the Pentecost Central Church in the port city of Surabaya, on Java Island’s east coast, according to police.
The attacks were conducted by a family of six.
Police also revealed that an unexploded device at an undisclosed location had also been “secured.”
Authorities blaimed blamed the suicide attacks on the ISIS-inspired group Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), which had allegedly drawn hundreds of ISIS supporters in the country.
The May 13 attacks came just a few days after militant prisoners killed five members of an elite counter-terrorism force during a 36-hour standoff at a high security jail on the outskirts of the country’s capital of Jakarta.

it is because the law here does not allow for police to apprehend indicated terrorists. They can only arrest or stop terrorists when they commit crimes in Indonesia. There has been some attempts to revise the law in the parliament but some party in the parliement which sympathizes with extremist elements vetoed the proposal of the new law. so the new anti-terrorism law cannot be implemented.
Furthermore, human rights groups blocks government attempts to put execution on terrorists offenders.
One can say the security measures in this country is very weak. We have about 500 or 1000 more ex-isis members yet we cannot arrest them because they haven’t yet commit terrorism in Indonesia.
