According to pro-government sources, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Tiger Forces as well as other pro-government units and factions are preparing for a large-scale military operation against militants in the Eastern Ghouta region, near Damascus. Earlier this week, the Syrian military started deploying large reinforcements to the area.
Is the goal to liberate the entire pocket or just to secure the armored vehicle base?
This is one of the largest mobilization of Syrian forces seen, no doubt it will bull doze through the entire pocket within a couple of weeks not to mention the addition of new Russian T-90’s will be used for the first time in the assault. Expect an acceleration not only in East Gouda but in the entire Syrian Proper.
Can you give me a source about “new T-90s”?
Check Al-Masdra the Tiger Forces have T-90’s and have Russian variants which were spotted in some of the convoys going over there.
Photo evidence has merged showing one of the many dozens of modern main battle tanks delivered to the Syrian Arab Army by Russia in recent months.
According to military affiliated sources, the Russian military has delivered no less than forty (40) T-90A main battle tanks – the equivalent of an armored battalion – to the Syrian Arab Army since the beginning of October this year.
The latest generation tanks were delivered to Syria via Russian cargo ships traversing the Bosphorus and arriving at the port city of Latakia.
After reaching Syria, the T-90s were placed in storage until being assigned to a Syrian Army unit for combat operations.
It is generally the case that high-end battle tanks like the T-90A are assigned to elite units of the Syrian Army that spearhead offensive operations such as the Tiger Forces Division.

the t-90 is not optimal in urban warfare.
But the 180mm and 240mm mortars seen loaded up on SAA/ Tiger Forces convoys heading for East Ghouta certainly are – they can smash urban blocks. As witnessed in East Beirut in 1989.

That might depend on the situation elswhere.
GO SYRIA GO!! Kill all these fucking bastard!!
Slaughter them all!
SAA should not be making any deals and eliminate all the headchoppers as previous deals have shown that the headchoppers pop up elsewhere as US sugar daddy tries to save them for further terrorism.
just 1 kiloton nuclear bomb.. the smallest in the world. will clear those 10 km wide area..
that is 5% of the bomb dropped in Japan.. it will create a ball of fire 2km wide and a shock wave
that will break concrete and terrorist bones from 5-7km wide. So if they hide on tunnels
will not save them. But also the similar destruction can be caused by a FOAB bomb that Russia
have. or something more cheaper , incendiary bombs ,will kill all the terrorist the smoke.. unfortunately it seems they can’t use lethal force for the civilians inside.
Cue the White Helmets and chemical weapons attack false flags. They should probably get the OPCW inspection team there, too. That’s always the best time for a state to use chemical weapons – when the UN inspectors are right f’king there. Instead of al Qaeda using Alawite hostages as victims this time, they’ll probably use Palestinian refugees from the ISIS-controlled Yarmouk camp.
The US/GCC/Israel have always been absolutely nuts about preserving the East Ghouta pocket of opposition – for obvious reasons. I have to wonder if there’s some other reasons not so obvious to us. In any case, there’s no chance they are going to give up on East Ghouta this time either, even though the head-choppers have little chance of holding the place by themselves today.
The coalition of evil undoubtedly has major plans ready to disrupt the SAA’s current attempt at the liberation of East Ghouta. ISIS ‘suddenly’ expanding from the Yarmouk camp has to be part of their Save the Ghouta Head-Choppers campaign.
Something under East Ghouta? Something valuable?
tunnels full of soon-to-be dead Jihadist goat raper scum….
SAA Tiger force will have to deal with many tunnels and traps setup. Based on previous attempt FSA blow up entire units.
There is no FSA in east ghetto. Its all salafist jihadists and Al Qaeda.
OK, mate!
Not that that even matters. FSA are just slightly more moderate headchoppers.
FSA are moderate camel humpers.
Not exactly correct, the so-called FSA and other headchoppers formed a “united front” to fight in Ghouta, that includes most Salafi/Wahhabi headchopper terrorists supported by US and Zionists.
Go SAA, go!
Is there higher resolution map?
the battle has begun

In real there is better situation than on map because in Qaboun and Barzeh are not militiants even under truce. SAA will win and Damascus will be safest place in Syria. This will be victory comparable to Aleppo.
In this map Q. and B. are under SAA control.
It would make sense to cut though the main axis road via Mesraba and liberate Douma. The headchoppers would be split up and then bomb them to kingdom come. SAA should rely on artillery and air power to minimize its casualties. Ghouta is a festering sore and its liberation will free up the bulk of best Syrian and allied forces to move on eastern Euphrates to tackle US terrorists.
Nice comment, I wouldn’t even fight to split them up; I would just carpet bomb the effers.
SAA should use FAE and thermobaric weapons and burn the headchoppers like plague infested rats. It is a build up area and scum have tunneled like rats, so a Russian style scorched earth policy will work. Most of the population is headchopper sympathizers anyway, and deserve no quarter.
Can someone help me realize the mindset of these idiots holding it down here? I get theyre mostly poor, and losers and rejects and foreigners. Ik theyre inspired by their allah, ik they think theyre cool because theyre so close to damascas suburbs.. but damn i watch alot of combat footage from over there and the first air strike i saw in person i would be like yeahh efff that, they win., yeah ik thats cowardly but its also common sense. I mean look at pics and drone fly overs of jobar… these losers have tunnels dug under all that mess thats so desperate. Even tho these jihadis have numbers and some financial backing… theyre going agsinst govt equipment and training… so dumb to fight for some fake guy innthe sky and some fake promises. I mean i blame it on lack/bad education and captigon…. lots and lots of captigon flowing into syria pumping belief into these whacky whacky bearded bros. agree disagree?
Agree, basically. Their leaders care nothing for religion. It is a deal that they struck – victory or death – and their master are holding them to it. After the siege of Deir Ezzor was broken no-one talks about a victory for the rebel side. So, it is death. They have chosen and they are sticking by it. So be it.
First it’s reports of the SAA preparing to attack Idlib, then it’s Deir Ez Zor, then it’s Homs and now it’s Damascus/Eastern Ghouta… You never can be certain where the attack will come from, but I guess that keeps the terror groups guessing too.
Angelo, Lulz Warriior (eh?) and vann7 are all mad…and sad.
