On November 23, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) captured the villages of al-Rashadiya and al-Hajara south of the town of Khanasir in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, according to pro-government sources. The SAA attack was supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces.
However, the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS launched a counter attack and recaptured al-Hajara few hours only after the SAA captured it.
Iba’a also announced that HTS fighters repelled an attack of the SAA on their positions around the village of Mustariha in the southern Idlib countryside. During the clashes around Mustariha, HTS fighters destroyed a tank of the SAA and damaged another one, according to Iba’a.
The Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) news agency Islam Awazi reported that the TIP fighters repelled an attack of the SAA in the northern Hama countryside.
According to Islam Awazi, TIP fighters destroyed a tank of the SAA during the clashes around Mustariha.
The ongoing battles in the northern Hama and southwestern Aleppo countrysides will likely intensify in the upcoming days. Especially after the latest ISIS advance in the area.
